Assistant Engineer

Job Description

• Appraise building plan submissions for sewerage and drainage works, as well as Water Service Notification, Temporary Occupation Permit (TOP) and Certificate of Statutory Completion (CSC) applications, in accordance with applicable codes of practice and the Board’s requirements.
• Consult and coordinate with departments within PUB to process submissions in accordance with statutory legislation, standards and requirements stipulated by the Board, including submissions relating to new water connections and addition and alteration works.
• Interpret construction drawings and verify that submissions comply with the Board’s requirements.  
• Prepare submission reports and maintain records of the number of submissions reviewed.
• Explore and develop methods to automate submission reviews where appropriate.
• Perform other submission-related duties as required by the Board.

Job Requirements

• Minimum Diploma in Engineering, Building Management, Project Management, Facilities Management, or an equivalent qualification acceptable to the Board.
• Knowledge of construction and the ability to interpret construction drawings.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.
• Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines, either independently or in a team environment.
• 5 days work week
