Civil Engineering Intern-Transportation Design (Summer 2027)

Based out of our newly relocated Des Moines, IA office in the heart of downtown, this Summer 2027 opportunity offers hands-on experience with real transportation infrastructure projects, one-on-one mentorship from seasoned professionals, and the chance to contribute to innovative design solutions that make a difference.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation of roadway and transportation design plans using OpenRoads Designer and other design software
• Support the development of construction documents, cost estimates, and technical reports
• Perform basic engineering calculations and data analysis
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other interns on multidisciplinary projects
• Participate in team meetings, site visits, and client presentations as appropriate

Required Qualifications:

• Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous Civil Engineering experience through an internship or co-op
• MicroStation Open Roads Designer (ORD) or AutoCAD Civil3D experience
