Duties & Responsibilities A leading contract catering organisation providing custom-designed, nutritionally balanced menus and professional catering solutions across South Africa.

Lead and manage daily food service operations at a major hospital, ensuring high standards of quality, hygiene, and client satisfaction.

Key responsibilities 

• Manage daily kitchen operations, food production and meal distribution.
• Ensure meals meet approved menus, portion sizes and patients' prescribed dietary requirements.
• Maintain food safety, hygiene, sanitation and infection prevention standards.
• Supervise staff, allocate duties, prepare rosters and monitor performance, creating and maintaining harmonious working environments.
• Manage food purchasing, stock control, storage and stocktaking.
• Monitor budgets, food costs and wastage to ensure efficient use of resources.
• Ensure kitchen equipment is maintained and used safely.
• Liaise with dietitians, nursing staff, suppliers and hospital management to ensure healthy relationships are maintained at all times.
• Address food service complaints and implement corrective action.
• Maintain records and prepare operational and financial reports.
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, hospital policies and standard operating procedures.

Requirements 

• Completed NQF Level 6 qualification in Food Service Management.
• Relevant experience in food service or catering operations, staff supervision, stock control, and food safety, with previous experience in a hospital environment being an advantage.
• Valid driver’s license and own reliable vehicle.

Salary

R28 000 CTC per month
