M03 - Senior Low-Code Engineer

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Enterprise Software Specialist (OutSystems) to design, develop and deliver secure, scalable enterprise applications using the OutSystems platform.

This is a hands-on engineering role focused on application development, platform enhancement, integrations, migration and engineering best practices. You will work closely with business stakeholders, product owners, enterprise architects and implementation partners throughout the software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and implement enterprise applications using OutSystems 11 (O11) and OutSystems Developer Cloud (ODC), including Reactive Web Apps, Service Modules, Core Services, integrations and reusable UI components.
• Develop and enhance enterprise applications incorporating AI/LLM capabilities, including integration with AWS Bedrock models.
• Maintain and support existing OutSystems applications, including production issue resolution, enhancements, release coordination and platform health monitoring.
• Support the migration of applications from OutSystems 11 to ODC, including application assessment, dependency review, remediation, testing and migration readiness.
• Configure and develop applications on ODC, covering application architecture, reusable components, integrations, deployment and development standards.
• Translate business requirements into secure, scalable and maintainable OutSystems solutions while maximising reusable platform capabilities.
• Develop reusable Blocks, Server Actions, Client Actions, APIs, integration patterns and shared service modules.
• Integrate OutSystems with Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft 365, enterprise databases, AWS-hosted services and other enterprise platforms using REST APIs and secure authentication patterns.
• Conduct technical reviews, mentor engineers and review implementation deliverables to ensure engineering quality and production readiness.
• Evaluate new OutSystems capabilities and contribute to engineering standards, development guidelines, reusable patterns and release practices.
• Ensure applications comply with enterprise security, architecture, accessibility, audit logging and data governance requirements.

Requirements

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline.
• Minimum 7 years of enterprise software engineering experience.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on OutSystems development experience, preferably with OutSystems 11 and/or ODC.
• Experience delivering enterprise low-code web applications, document automation, AI/LLM-enabled solutions, integrations or productivity platforms.
• Experience working in Agile/Product environments and collaborating with implementation partners, platform owners and technical architects.

Technical Skills

• Strong OutSystems development experience covering Reactive Web Apps, Screens, Blocks, Client Actions, Server Actions, Entities, Aggregates, Advanced SQL, Timers, integrations and Exception Handling.
• Strong understanding of OutSystems architecture patterns, including foundation modules, core services, end-user modules, producer-consumer dependencies, reusable components and application layering.
• Experience with REST APIs, JSON, authentication, authorisation, role-based access control, SSO, identity integration and secure secrets management.
• Experience implementing enterprise OutSystems applications involving document processing, AI/LLM integrations, AWS Bedrock and secure role-based access control would be advantageous.
• Knowledge of OutSystems Service Center, LifeTime, deployment planning, environment management, CI/CD, code review and DevSecOps practices.

Certifications

• OutSystems Associate Reactive Developer certification or equivalent hands-on experience.
• OutSystems Professional Developer or Tech Lead certification is highly desirable.
• Additional certifications in cloud, DevSecOps, software architecture, security or Agile delivery are advantageous.
