PMCD / CHCD Well Site Engineer

Responsibilities

Planning & Engineering

• Write PMCD/CHCD drilling program
• Prepare Feasibility studies and contingency plans
• Prepare wellbore schematics, RCD stack configuration and PMCD equipment layouts.
• Write operating procedures, risk assessments

Wellsite Execution

• Operate the RCD and control surface back pressure (SBP); carry out the LAM bullheading schedule.
• Monitor PMCD trends: annulus pressure below RCD, fill/loss balance, gas migration; enforce stripping limits.
• Control trip speed to protect the sealing element and detect element wear early.
• Install, change and remove bearing assembly, sealing elements and funnel.
• Inspect equipment every shift for defects and integrity.
• Coordinate with mud engineer (LAM/SAC volumes, properties, stock) and mud logger / H2S specialist (gas warnings).
• Provide technical support to the company representative; issue daily and end-of-well report.

QHSE & Equipment

• Comply with all QHSE rules for the MPD product line; participate in PTW, toolbox talks and risk assessments.
• Track planned maintenance and diagnostics schedules, equipment arrivals and inventory.
• Act to prevent failures and incidents and improve service quality.

Client & MPD Team

• Daily Pre Job Safety Meetings and Ops calls.
• Lead technical discussions with the client.
• Contribute lessons learned and improvement opportunities after each job.

Requirements

• Education: Degree in petroleum, mechanical or drilling engineering.
• Experience: 3-5+ years in MPD with hands-on PMCD/CHCD jobs, preferably sour and total-loss wells.
• Well control: Valid IWCF or IADC WellSharp (Supervisor level for senior roles).
• H2S / Safety: H2S certificate, BA training, first aid, PTW and JHA competence.
• Equipment: RCD, MPD chokes, Coriolis meters, trip tank and kill line operations.
• Technical knowledge: Mud-cap design, bullheading, gas migration, stripping, U-tube effect, KMW calculations.
• Skills: Decisive under pressure, clear communication with rig crew and client, accurate documentation.
• Language: English (Russian and Kazakh are preferable)
• Other: Medical fitness for rotation; willing to work 28/28 at remote sites.
