Cut underwriting from 7 days to 1 day. The Salesforce-native loan management software trusted by CDFIs, CRE lenders & fintech platforms. Close faster.
ABOUT THE ROLE

Fundingo is a loan servicing platform built natively on Salesforce. Our customers are lenders and loan servicers who use Fundingo to run their day-to-day operations. Our delivery team works directly with those customers, building custom implementations, integrations, and data migrations that fit Fundingo to how each customer runs their business.

As a Salesforce Technical Lead, you'll set the technical direction for our delivery projects. You'll make the architecture decisions, own our Git-based development process and code standards, review the team's code, and direct the work of the Salesforce developers on each project. You'll also take part in internal strategy discussions and join sales conversations with prospective clients who need integration expertise.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role, with development in Apex and Lightning Web Components as the primary focus. You’ll also lead technical design, review code, and guide developers on assigned delivery projects. The balance will vary based on project complexity and team needs.

You'll direct the developers' work on your projects, but this isn't a people-management role: developers don't report to you, and you won't handle things like time-off requests. It is also not an admin or configuration role.

WHAT YOU’LL DOArchitecture and technical direction
  • Own the technical design for delivery projects, including automation, integration patterns, and how custom work extends Fundingo without fighting it. Document and communicate these designs so the team and the customer can understand them.
  • Choose the right tool for each requirement, whether that's Apex, Flow, Lightning Web Components, or configuration, and know when not to write code.
  • Weigh speed, scalability, and maintainability against each other, and communicate these considerations to the team.
  • Design integrations with outside systems like payment processors, accounting systems, and document providers that are reliable and easy to support.
Development process and code quality
  • Own the Git-based development workflow for delivery projects, including branching, pull requests, merge rules, and deployment practices, aligned with Fundingo’s company-wide engineering standards.
  • Use and enforce our company's coding standards, naming conventions, and design patterns, and make sure the implementation team follows them.
  • Review pull requests for correctness, security, performance, test quality, and fit with the design. Your feedback should help developers grow, not just get their code merged.
Team leadership and communication
  • Lead the developers' work on each project by assigning and sequencing tasks, pairing with them, unblocking them, and helping them improve their design and debugging skills.
  • Work with the Implementation Specialists and Business Analysts to break customer requirements into well-scoped work, and help project managers estimate, plan, and sequence it.
  • Raise the technical skill level of Fundingo’s developers and Salesforce admins through code reviews, pairing, best-practice guidance, and knowledge sharing.
  • Lead technical discovery and design sessions with customers. Turn business requirements into technical designs, and explain constraints, options, and tradeoffs in plain language.
  • Act as the technical point of contact for customers' IT teams and outside vendors on integrations, data migrations, and escalations.
  • Support sales and leadership by joining conversations with prospective clients about integrations and complex requirements, and by bringing a technical perspective to internal strategy discussions.
Hands-on development and delivery
  • Build scalable and performant implementations using Apex, Lightning Web Components, and other Salesforce tools.
  • Plan and oversee data migrations from legacy systems, including mapping, transformation, validation, and cutover.
  • Lead troubleshooting of production issues in customer orgs using debug logs and customer reports.
  • Support technical go-live readiness, including deployment plans, release coordination, and post-launch documentation.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FORRequired
  • 5 or more years of hands-on Salesforce development with Apex, SOQL, and Lightning Web Components.
  • 2 or more years leading the technical work of other developers on a project team, including assigning and reviewing their work and guiding design decisions.
  • Experience leading the technical side of customer-facing Salesforce projects, from discovery and design through go-live.
  • A track record of making and defending architecture decisions on Salesforce projects using established patterns, such as trigger frameworks and service, selector, and domain layers.
  • Strong command of Salesforce DX, source-tracked development, and sandbox strategy.
  • Expert knowledge of Git, plus experience setting up and enforcing a branching and pull request workflow for one or more development teams.
  • Extensive code review experience and a clear, well-reasoned point of view on code quality, standards, and testing.
  • Mastery of governor limits, bulkification, and performance tuning.
  • Excellent communication skills. You speak clearly and confidently with engineers, project managers, executives, prospective clients, and non-technical business users.
  • Experience mentoring developers and raising the skill level of a team.
Strongly preferred
  • Salesforce Platform Developer I or II certification.
  • REST API integration experience between Salesforce and financial services systems.
  • Experience with large data migrations into Salesforce, using tools like Data Loader, ETL platforms, or custom scripts.
  • Background in lending, loan servicing, financial services, or another regulated industry.
  • Consulting or professional services experience, including working within scopes, estimates, and project budgets.
  • Experience supporting sales or pre-sales conversations as the technical expert.
  • Familiarity with AI coding tools like Claude Code in day-to-day development, and a practical view on using them responsibly alongside coding standards and code review.
Nice to have
  • Familiarity with Experience Cloud, Flows, and Platform Events.
  • Active in the Salesforce developer community. Trailhead, Stack Exchange, blog posts, speaking, or open source contributions all count.
WHAT WE OFFERThe opportunity
  • Be part of the legacy of a growing company at an inflection point, with the chance to make a real impact on our mission
  • Build and operate the delivery engine behind increasingly complex and enterprise-level customer engagements.
  • Take meaningful ownership rather than inheriting a narrowly defined corporate function.
  • Work directly with company leadership and have visibility into the broader business.
  • Build a function that can grow in scope and responsibility as FUNDINGO grows.
  • Help shape the operating model of a Salesforce-native lending technology company.
  • Work in a fully remote environment with a distributed team.
