Senior Informatica Engineer (IDMC / CDGC)

Role Overview

Support and develop client data platforms from the India office, with a focus on metadata management, data quality and enterprise governance using Informatica Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC).

Key Responsibilities

• Platform maintenance: Run and support IDMC, including Secure Agent management, connectivity, access control, asset groups, roles, SSO/SCIM provisioning and environment promotion.
• Metadata engineering: Configure and troubleshoot metadata scans across cloud warehouses, databases, CRM platforms, APIs and reporting tools; resolve scanning and profiling failures at scale.
• Data quality and governance: Build and maintain data quality rules, scorecards, business glossaries and classifications, keeping them consistent across sources.
• Lineage: Map end-to-end enterprise data flows to make pipelines visible and trusted.
• Automation: Use IDMC REST APIs, Python and bulk import/export for glossary loads, catalog clean-up and governance workflows.
• Mentoring and delivery: Mentor junior engineers and ensure high-quality project deliverables.

Required Skills and Experience

• 5–10 years of experience, with recent, production-level hands-on Informatica IDMC, Data Quality tooling and Cloud Data Governance and Catalog (CDGC), including platform administration, metadata scanning, lineage and Metadata Command Center.
• Practical exposure to Unity Catalog and data governance, with implementation examples.
• Strong SQL and Python coding skills to build and maintain scalable, robust data pipelines and automation.
• Data integration across complex systems, ensuring consistency and accuracy.
• Ability to develop and enforce engineering best practices for governance, security and compliance.
• Strong experience with AWS, GCP or Azure, plus awareness of containerization (e.g., Docker).
• Strong verbal and written communication; able to work with architects, analysts and business stakeholders and translate requirements into technical delivery.
• Certification: Informatica certification (IDMC, CDGC or Data Quality). Collibra/Purview certifications or experience, if any, to be mentioned separately.

Desirable

• Master's degree or PhD in a relevant field.
• Reporting and dashboards: optimising data retrieval and building reports for business teams.
• Evaluating technologies and tools to enhance the data engineering function.
• Experience with Databricks, Snowflake, Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue, Apache Airflow or PySpark.
• Experience with other catalogs such as Collibra, Microsoft Purview or Alation.

What We Are Not Looking For

Profiles with only legacy PowerCenter work, support/monitoring, validation-only activity, or migration away from Informatica will not be sufficient. Listing tool names alone does not establish hands-on experience.
