Job Description

Why this role matters

As an Inspector 2, you will directly support the production of critical aerospace systems by verifying that parts and assemblies meet strict engineering and safety standards. Your work helps keep aircraft safe, reliable, and at the forefront of aviation technology.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform routine and detailed inspections of electronic assemblies, sub-assemblies, circuit cards, modules, and components to verify correct assembly, values, forming, and positions per drawings and specifications.
  • Use a variety of measuring tools, gages, test sets, and inspection equipment to confirm dimensional and functional requirements.
  • Execute First Article Inspections (FAI) on intermediate components and document results accurately.
  • Accept or reject units according to established work standards (IPCs) and enter nonconformances into the TIPQA system when defects are found.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, parts lists, and technical documentation.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records and perform transactions in Oracle MRP.
  • Keep your workstation, tools, and equipment organized and compliant with safety procedures.
  • Mentor and provide training to other employees; contribute actively to a self-directed teaming environment.
  • Follow all company safety policies; for specific induction roles, assist with lifting tasks (up to 120 lbs as a two-person lift or with lifting equipment) and complete health & safety tests as required.

Required skills, qualifications, and experience

The following qualifications are required to be considered for this position:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • This role may encounter high risk or hazardous operations and/or include working shifts beyond a standard workweek. As such, a requirement of the role is to be at least 18 years of age by the time of joining
  • IPC-A-610 certification.
  • 1-3 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in inspection or electronics.
  • Proficiency in at least two areas on the inspection skills matrix (internal qualification).
  • Experience operating a variety of measuring machines and complex gages; strong blueprint/specification reading and interpretation skills.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to perform Oracle MRP transactions.
  • Strong hand-eye coordination, dexterity, and the ability to maintain close tolerances.
  • Willingness and ability to obtain Preliminary Review (PR) certification.

Role-specific requirements for certain positions:

Preferred / desirable qualifications

  • Past electronics inspection experience and experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working in self-directed teams and familiarity with lean manufacturing.
  • From my understanding of similar roles and industry hiring practices: additional certifications, experience with metrology, IPC-related credentials, or prior experience with TIPQA/Oracle in aerospace environments will be advantageous.
