GE Vernova is a global energy equipment and services company that spun off from General Electric as an independent, publicly traded business. Headquartered in Cambridge, Massachusetts, the company operates across three primary business segments - Power, Wind, and Electrification - providing gas, nuclear, hydro, onshore and offshore wind turbines, grid software, and energy storage solutions. GE Vernova partners with utilities, industrial clients, and governments worldwide to drive electrification and accelerate the transition toward sustainable power.

Job Description Summary

At GE Vernova, we are building the energy infrastructure that powers the world. As a Quality Assurance Engineer for our HVDC transformer manufacturing, you won’t just be monitoring processes-you will be the guardian of quality, ensuring our high-voltage technology is safe, reliable, and built to the highest global standards.

If you are a problem-solver who thrives on "getting it right the first time" and enjoys driving continuous improvement in a fast-paced, high-tech manufacturing environment, we want to hear from you.

Job Description

Your Impact

You will be the vital link between Engineering, Manufacturing, and Sourcing. Your work directly ensures that our HVDC transformers meet the rigorous demands of our customers and the critical nature of the global energy grid. You will lead the charge in defect prevention, process capability, and cultivating a "Zero Defect" culture across the shop floor.

What You’ll Do

  • Be the Quality Architect: Lead quality planning and define the standards that keep our production lines running smoothly and accurately.
  • Solve the Complex: Use your expertise in 8D, 5-Why, and Root Cause Analysis to turn quality challenges into opportunities for process improvement.
  • Mitigate Risk: Apply your knowledge of DFMEA/PFMEA and SPC to identify potential hurdles before they reach the assembly line.
  • Collaborate Across Boundaries: Work hand-in-hand with suppliers and internal teams to ensure every material and process component meets our exacting standards.
  • Champion Improvement: Analyze FPY and COPQ data to drive the initiatives that move the needle on quality and efficiency.

Who You Are

  • Technically Minded: You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering and have a solid foundation in transformer manufacturing or heavy electrical equipment.
  • Quality Focused: You are fluent in ISO 9001, IEC/IEEE standards, and aren’t afraid to roll up your sleeves with FMEA, Control Plans, and MSA.
  • Data-Driven: You love turning performance metrics into actionable strategies.
  • A Natural Influencer: You communicate with clarity, bridging the gap between technical requirements and shop-floor reality to keep cross-functional teams aligned.
  • A Continuous Learner: You possess (or are working toward) a Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt and are always looking for a better way to do things.

Why Join Us?

Joining our team means working on some of the most critical energy projects in the world. You’ll be supported by a global organization, surrounded by experts, and encouraged to develop your career through technical and leadership growth. We value a culture of ownership and safety above all else.
