We are building Genera because AI has a major capacity shortage. No, we aren’t talking about compute capacity. The #1 bottleneck for enterprise AI is deployment capacity.

FDE is the hottest job in tech, and no fast-growing AI company can hire enough of them to keep up with customer demand. Historically, System Integrators have been the default solution for scaling software implementations without linearly adding more headcount. But SIs are a $450b market with a premise that is fundamentally at odds with the promise of AI. You shouldn’t pay consultants by the hour to deploy software that is designed to displace human labor.

Genera agents automate routine deployment work like requirements gathering, data migration, configuration building, and testing. Our Deployments team combines exceptional technical talent with deep customer ownership. With Genera, our customers pay for outcomes, not hours, and their customers go live faster than ever before.

Genera was founded by Will and James, Stanford classmates with two decades of experience building and deploying AI products. We raised $10m led by First Round Capital and are growing our team in San Francisco and Bangalore.

About the Role

We are looking for exceptional technical students and recent graduates who want to build, work directly with customers, and learn how great AI products get deployed in the real world.

You might be studying computer science, applied math, engineering, or another deeply technical field. You could probably become a software engineer, but you want a role with more customer exposure, more business context, and more ownership.

You’ll join our Deployments team and work alongside experienced FDEs, product leaders, engineers, and founders to deploy software for some of the best AI companies in the world and their enterprise customers.

Roughly 60% of the job is building and 40% is customer-facing. You might join a customer discovery session in the morning, use Claude Code or another agentic development tool to build an automation in the afternoon, test it against real customer workflows, and then present what you built back to the customer.

You’ll build customer-specific agents and configurations, work with engineering to improve the core Genera platform, and learn to recognize which solutions should become repeatable capabilities. As you grow, you’ll also learn how to build executive relationships, identify opportunities for expansion, and partner with Sales to grow customer accounts.

We care deeply about mentorship. You’ll work closely with experienced teammates who are invested in teaching you how to become an exceptional technical builder, customer partner, and problem solver. We want you taking on real responsibility quickly, but we do not expect you to figure everything out alone.

Over time, our goal is for you to become someone who can independently run a deployment, ship production-quality solutions, collaborate with engineers, and become a trusted partner to sophisticated enterprise customers.

This role is based in San Francisco and includes some customer travel.

Your Skillset

• You are studying or recently graduated in computer science, applied math, engineering, or another technical field that taught you how to reason rigorously

• You have strong technical aptitude and enjoy building. Maybe that means coursework, research, side projects, internships, hackathons, or simply spending a lot of time experimenting with AI coding tools

• You are an unusually strong communicator for someone with a technical background and genuinely enjoy working with people

• You can break messy problems into pieces, learn how a process works, and turn ambiguity into action

• You have strong instincts about what makes a product or customer experience feel great

• You have demonstrated initiative outside of a tightly defined curriculum or job description
