Senior Product QA

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Product QA based in India.

As a Senior Product QA, you will take ownership of product quality across the full software development lifecycle, from requirements refinement through release readiness. You will work closely with product managers, designers, engineers, and leadership to identify risks, strengthen acceptance criteria, and ensure features reflect real user needs. The role combines hands-on functional testing with data-informed quality strategies and exploratory approaches. You will also play a key role in validating AI-powered features, assessing the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of model-driven outputs and decisions. Working within an AI-native engineering environment, you will use AI-assisted tools to expand test coverage, analyze defects, and improve testing efficiency. This is an opportunity to influence product quality at a strategic level while remaining deeply hands-on in a fast-moving environment. Accountabilities

• Own end-to-end product quality for features, from requirements review and test planning through release readiness.
• Partner with product managers, designers, and engineers to refine acceptance criteria, challenge assumptions, identify edge cases, and surface quality risks early.
• Design and execute tests around real user journeys, ensuring product behavior meets both functional requirements and user expectations.
• Define, maintain, and evolve test plans, test cases, quality benchmarks, and coverage strategies as the product develops.
• Use product analytics, user feedback, support data, logs, and defect trends to prioritize testing and focus on high-risk areas.
• Identify recurring defect patterns and user-reported issues to drive systemic improvements in product quality.
• Communicate quality status, risks, trade-offs, and potential user impact clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI)-assisted tools for test case generation, exploratory testing, defect analysis, documentation, and edge-case discovery.
• Validate AI-powered product capabilities, including model outputs, recommendations, and automated decisions, against defined accuracy, consistency, and user-expectation standards.
• Evaluate emerging AI testing tools and practices and incorporate relevant approaches into quality assurance workflows.
• Conduct functional, regression, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with a product-focused mindset.
• Verify that new features satisfy acceptance criteria and perform reliably across complete user flows.
• Collaborate with product engineers, product managers, and leadership to support rapid iteration and dependable releases.
• Document testing decisions, quality benchmarks, known risks, and testing outcomes to strengthen team knowledge sharing and onboarding.
• Continuously improve testing workflows, defect triage processes, risk-based coverage, and overall quality practices.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in Quality Assurance (QA), with meaningful experience in product-oriented testing.
• Strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and modern software testing methodologies.
• Strong product mindset, with the ability to understand user behavior, map complex user journeys, and prioritize testing based on business and user impact.
• Demonstrated experience using analytics, logs, user feedback, and other data sources to inform testing strategy and prioritization.
• Proficiency with bug-tracking and project management platforms such as JIRA, Linear, Trello, or similar tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain quality risks, technical findings, and trade-offs to diverse stakeholders.
• Strong analytical capabilities, problem-solving skills, and exceptional attention to detail.
• Demonstrated and regular use of AI-powered tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude, or similar solutions to accelerate testing, documentation, exploratory analysis, or defect investigation.
• Hands-on, resourceful, and adaptable approach suited to a fast-paced startup environment.
• Experience testing AI-powered product features, including model output validation, recommendation accuracy, or automated decision flows, is preferred.
• Familiarity with mortgage, lending, or financial technology (fintech) products is preferred.
• Experience with exploratory and risk-based testing techniques is preferred.
• Understanding of product analytics and observability tools and how they can support QA strategy is preferred.
• Previous experience working in an early-stage startup environment is highly preferred.
