Global ERP Operations Lead, SAP Platform

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Global ERP Operations Lead, SAP Platform based in the United States.

This leadership role is responsible for the stability, performance, security, and continuous improvement of a global SAP ERP environment.

You’ll oversee day-to-day ERP operations supporting critical business processes across a complex enterprise landscape.

The position combines deep SAP expertise with service management, automation, AIOps, and operational excellence.

You’ll help modernize operations through intelligent monitoring, automation, standardization, and data-driven optimization.

The role has significant influence across cybersecurity, compliance, infrastructure, application delivery, and business technology teams.

You’ll also lead global internal and partner resources while managing service performance through clear KPIs and SLAs.

Accountabilities

• Lead global run operations for SAP S/4HANA and integrated ERP platforms, ensuring high availability, reliability, performance, and service continuity.
• Drive operational excellence through structured monitoring, incident management, problem management, change management, and continuous service improvement practices.
• Establish and advance AI-enabled ERP operations and AIOps capabilities, using system telemetry and operational data to strengthen resilience, accelerate issue resolution, and optimize costs.
• Define, monitor, and manage operational KPIs and SLAs to maintain consistent service quality and performance across the ERP landscape.
• Ensure ERP environments meet applicable cybersecurity, GxP, SOX, GDPR, and other regulatory and compliance requirements.
• Strengthen access management, segregation-of-duties controls, security patching, and other ERP security processes.
• Identify opportunities for automation, standardization, modernization, and process optimization across global ERP operations.
• Analyze operational metrics and trends to improve system resilience, user experience, service quality, and cost efficiency.
• Lead, develop, and coordinate a global team of internal employees and partner resources.
• Manage service delivery relationships and ensure vendors and partners meet agreed performance expectations.
• Partner with solution leads, application delivery teams, infrastructure teams, and other technology stakeholders to support seamless ERP lifecycle management.
• Contribute to strategic decisions regarding the evolution, modernization, and operational maturity of the enterprise SAP environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 6 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combinations of advanced education and professional experience; accepted pathways also include a master’s degree with 4 years, doctorate with 2 years, associate degree with 10 years, or high school diploma/GED with 12 years of relevant experience.
• Approximately 10 years of experience in enterprise technology organizations and/or consulting environments is preferred.
• Demonstrated success leading ERP implementation and/or operations within large, complex, global organizations.
• Deep expertise with SAP S/4HANA, SAP BTP, and RISE with SAP, as well as integrated non-SAP environments.
• Strong experience managing complex integrations and enterprise-scale SAP landscapes.
• Proven ability to lead service delivery using KPIs, SLAs, performance metrics, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Experience implementing automation, operational optimization, and modernization initiatives within ERP environments.
• Working knowledge of cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS, and enterprise service management platforms such as ServiceNow.
• Knowledge of ITIL practices and ERP security, risk, and compliance frameworks in highly regulated environments.
• Strong understanding of operational governance, service management, cybersecurity, access controls, and enterprise technology processes.
• Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, communication, and vendor management skills.
• Ability to operate effectively across global, cross-functional teams and balance strategic priorities with day-to-day operational needs.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a continuous-improvement mindset and the ability to use operational data to drive decisions.
