OVERVIEW

The Digital and Technology team of General Mills India Centre is looking for a passionate and enthusiastic individual to contribute to the Global Digital Transformation initiative at General Mills in capacity of a Sr. Technical Engineer.

The SAP Sr. Technical Engineer is responsible for the design and delivery of scalable, sustainable, high-quality custom solutions across the GMI ecosystem, focusing on the implementation of SAP and integration with applications across the system landscape.

Individual should be a highly motivated thinker, collaborator to influence stakeholders in transforming the SAP Development processes and development practices.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Solution Design & Delivery
  • Provide technical consultation and design solutions considering end-to-end business processes, scalability, sustainability, performance and maintainability.
  • Estimate, plan and decompose complex development initiatives into manageable deliverables; coordinate and delegate work to junior developers and ensure quality delivery.
  • Drive integrated process and technical improvements across teams.
• Technical & Functional Expertise
  • Demonstrate strong expertise across Core ABAP, ABAP on HANA, S/4HANA, PI/Integration, ALE/IDoc, Workflow, DDIC, layouts and UI/UX.
  • Proficiency in modern SAP technologies including Fiori, ABAP Cloud and RAP.
  • Possess broad functional understanding across SAP modules such as TM, MM, SD, FI, enabling effective end-to-end solution design.
• Technical Leadership & Coaching
  • Mentor and guide junior team members across technical, functional and business-process dimensions.
  • Promote knowledge sharing and build technical depth within the team.
  • Lead adoption of SAP best practices covering code reviews, DDIC, change control and development standards; coach designated stewards to sustain these practices.
• Innovation & Continuous Improvement
  • Maintain an experimental and future-oriented mindset, actively evaluating emerging SAP capabilities and identifying opportunities for adoption within the organization.
  • Assess and pilot relevant SAP innovations to improve productivity, automation, user experience and solution sustainability

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Education: Full-time graduation from an accredited university.
• Experience: 10-13 years of SAP Development experience, including lead roles in large-scale implementation projects.
• Strong expertise in Core ABAP, ABAP on HANA, S/4HANA, Fiori/UI5 and ABAP Cloud/RAP, with broad functional knowledge across MM, FI, SD, TM, etc.
• Understand how SAP applications and technologies integrate across teams and the broader technology landscape.
• Understand the business value proposition and incorporate it into solution design and delivery.
• Recognized as a go-to SME, with a track record of delivering solutions and mentoring/coaching others.
• Experience driving SAP best practices and process improvements across teams.
• Actively participate in IT forums, communities of practice, recruiting and other broader organizational initiatives.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Expert level - S4 Hana; ABAP for SAP HANA; General ABAP, Enhancement Framework; Forms; ABAP Objects; ALE /IDOC; SAP Gateway/ Fiori; Performance / Unit Testing; Functional Areas; R/3ERP (TM, SD, MM, FI)
• Intermediate Level - TM (Must), BTP/BAS, RAP/ABAP on Cloud, SAP Workflow
• Basic level - Mulesoft, OMP
