Job Description

Role Overview

We are looking for a Front-end UI Developer to join our Advanced AI Practice within the AI Application Engineering team. This is a hands-on front-end engineering role for someone who enjoys building clean, performant, and accessible user interfaces - including for Generative AI and Agentic AI applications. You will translate business requirements into technical specifications and work closely with backend, data science, and product teams to deliver production-ready UI experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Front-end development: Design, build, and maintain responsive, high-performance web applications using modern front-end frameworks (Angular/React) with TypeScript.

AI-powered UI: Contribute to building interfaces for GenAI and agentic applications including chat/conversational UIs, streaming response rendering (via SSE/WebSockets), and markdown/rich-content rendering for LLM outputs.

Requirements to specifications: Capture business requirements and translate them into clear technical specifications and UI implementation plans.

Architecture & code quality: Apply strong OOP principles and design patterns to build modular, maintainable UI codebases; contribute to shared component libraries and design systems.

Testing & quality assurance support: Support unit and end-to-end tests (Jasmine/Karma, Jest, Cypress, or Playwright) to ensure UI reliability and catch regressions early.

Cloud & deployment: Work within cloud environments (AWS/Azure) to support deployment and integration of UI applications with backend and AI/ML services.

Collaboration: Work as part of a larger cross-functional delivery team while being comfortable owning individual deliverables end-to-end.

Continuous improvement: Analyze existing UI frameworks and components, and implement enhancements to performance, usability, and code quality.

Support: Provide UI support to business and product teams for issues, enhancements, and feature requests.

Must-Have Skills and Experience (Mandatory)

2+ years of hands-on UI/front-end development experience.

Strong experience with Angular (v2+)/Angular CLI/NgRx or React, along with TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3.

Experience with styling frameworks and preprocessors such as Bootstrap, Tailwind CSS, or SASS.

Solid JavaScript fundamentals, OOP concepts, and understanding of common design patterns.

Hands-on experience with unit and end-to-end testing (Karma/Jasmine, Jest, Cypress, or Playwright).

Proficiency with version control tools, primarily Git (SVN exposure a plus).

Working experience in a cloud environment (AWS or Azure).

Ability to translate business requirements into clear, actionable technical specifications.

Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a larger, cross-functional team.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Good-to-Have Skills

Exposure to building UI for GenAI/LLM-powered applications: chat interfaces, streaming response rendering, and prompt-driven UX patterns.

Familiarity with integrating front-end applications with LLM/AI APIs (OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock) and handling real-time/streaming data (SSE, WebSockets).

Exposure to micro-frontend architecture (e.g., Module Federation) and modern component libraries/design systems (Material UI, shadcn/ui).

Familiarity with Node.js/MEAN stack for full-stack contributions or building backend-for-frontend (BFF) layers.

Knowledge of web performance optimization and Core Web Vitals.

Awareness of accessibility standards (WCAG) for building inclusive interfaces.

Exposure to AI-assisted developer tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor) to improve development productivity.

Basic understanding of security considerations for AI-integrated UIs, such as safe rendering of LLM-generated content.

Exposure to CI/CD pipelines for front-end deployment (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps).

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology/Systems, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.

Bonus: A portfolio of UI projects, open-source contributions, or experience building interfaces for AI/GenAI products.
