You’ll identify repetitive operational work and replace it with Infrastructure as Code, automated runbooks, and self-service deployment capabilities, making the platform faster to change, cheaper to run, and compliant by design. This role blends cloud infrastructure engineering, DevOps / CI/CD, and FinOps and compliance automation, giving you the opportunity to shape how the platform is built, deployed, governed, and operated.
A day in this role_
- Identify repetitive operational tasks and design automation to eliminate manual effort.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform across AWS environments.
- Automate governance and compliance checks across accounts and resources.
- Build self-service deployment capabilities for engineering and data teams.
- Automate cost reporting and remediation (e.g., idle resources, rightsizing, scheduling).
- Create operational dashboards and alerts to improve visibility and incident response.
- Improve CI/CD processes using GitHub (Actions, branching strategies, automated testing and promotion).
- Orchestrate operational workflows with AWS Step Functions, EventBridge, Lambda, and Systems Manager.
- Collaborate with platform, data, and security teams to define standards, guardrails, and best practices.
- Terraform modules and Infrastructure as Code for the platform.
- Automated operational runbooks.
- Compliance automation.
- Cost optimization automation.
- Deployment pipelines (CI/CD).
The expertise requested_
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps, cloud infrastructure, or platform engineering roles.
- Strong expertise in Terraform and Infrastructure as Code practices (modules, state management, environments).
- Hands-on experience with AWS Step Functions, Amazon EventBridge, AWS Systems Manager, and AWS Lambda.
- Experience with GitHub and building CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or similar).
- Working knowledge of AWS Glue, Amazon Redshift, Amazon Athena, Amazon S3, and Amazon EC2.
- Strong scripting and development skills in Python and SQL.
- Experience implementing monitoring, alerting, and operational dashboards (CloudWatch or similar).
- Solid understanding of Agile, SDLC, and modern engineering best practices.
Desired or nice to have expertise_
- Experience with AWS Config, Security Hub, or policy-as-code tools (OPA, Sentinel, Checkov).
- Experience with FinOps practices and tools (Cost Explorer, Cost and Usage Reports, budgets).
- Familiarity with multi-account AWS setups (AWS Organizations, Control Tower).
- Exposure to AI-assisted engineering tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor) to accelerate automation.
- AWS certifications (e.g., DevOps Engineer - Professional, SysOps Administrator) or HashiCorp Terraform Associate.
Our Core values are focus to inclusion and diversity, all qualified applicants will be considered for employment and will go thru a fair recruitment process regardless of their race, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin or disability status.
