Main Purpose of the Job
The purpose of the role is to lead and develop a team of Data Engineers and BI Developers, helping them deliver reliable, secure, and maintainable data and BI solutions. The Engineering Manager supports strong engineering practices, team collaboration, and continuous improvement, while working closely with the Product Owner and architects to balance delivery needs with long-term technical quality.
What can you expect your day to look like?
Lead a team of Data Engineers and BI Developers, fostering collaboration, ownership, and a healthy team culture.
Drive technical excellence in data engineering and BI practices, promoting scalable, reliable, secure, and maintainable solutions.
Contribute to the technology roadmap and architecture discussions in collaboration with the Solution Architect, Product Owner, and engineering team.
Partner with the Product Owner and architects to balance delivery goals with technical health, maintainability, reliability, and long-term platform direction.
Support technical decision-making by helping the team evaluate trade-offs, follow agreed standards, and apply engineering best practices.
Strengthen engineering practices across code review, testing, documentation, version control, monitoring, deployment, and operational reliability.
Support engineering delivery by removing blockers, managing technical dependencies and risks, and enabling a sustainable delivery pace.
Develop and coach team members through regular feedback, career growth discussions, performance management, hiring, and onboarding.
Facilitate Scrum/Agile ceremonies and team processes, promoting effective planning, refinement, reviews, retrospectives, and continuous improvement.
What do we expect from you?
Experience 7+ years in data engineering, BI and data warehousing
Strong people leadership, coaching, and team development skills and experience.
Solid understanding of data engineering, data warehousing, BI, reporting and analytical modeling.
Ability to promote technical excellence, engineering standards, and operational reliability.
Experience contributing to technology roadmap and architecture discussions.
Strong Agile/Scrum facilitation and continuous improvement skills.
Good understanding of code review, testing, documentation, version control, monitoring, and deployment practices.
Ability to collaborate effectively with Product Owners, architects, engineers, BI developers, analysts, and business stakeholders.
Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-support skills.
Data quality, governance, and trusted data product mindset.
Experience with SAP Datasphere, SAP HANA, SAP Analytics Cloud, MS Fabric, Power BI, or similar data and BI platforms is an advantage.

Base monthly salary: from 6170 to 7400 EUR (before tax). The final offer will depend on the candidate’s experience, competencies, and overall fit for the role.
