Project Intern, Administration and Finance | Climate Cluster | Pretoria | Six months
Every climate project that makes the headlines depends on something quieter: a contract signed on time, an invoice paid correctly, an event that runs without a hitch. This is where you come in.
GIZ’s Climate Cluster in Pretoria is looking for a graduate to join its Finance and Administration team for a six-month internship and to learn how the work behind the work gets done.
What We Are Looking For
- A degree in Business Administration, Finance or Economics
- Academic or internship experience in Office Administration or Project Management
- Excellent working knowledge of IT and Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Very good spoken and written English
- High attention to detail and precision
- The ability to understand instructions quickly, ask for clarification when needed, adapt, and work independently to deliver on time
- The motivation to work in a multicultural environment, and to be a good team player
An advantage: experience with knowledge and information management systems.
What You Will Be Doing
- Keeping procurement, service contract and event files in order, and updating the procurement and invoice trackers, including the tracker that flags contract end dates
- Assisting with invoice checks, including monthly fleet invoices, payment follow-ups with the Country Office, and voucher preparation before bookings
- Taking minutes at meetings, supporting events and logistics, and preparing and formatting presentations
- Supporting the Internal Control preparations and administrative tasks linked to GIZ instruments, helping with inventory labelling and records, and carrying out other duties as directed by your line manager
