Who will do well in this role?

This role is for a visual designer with exceptional aesthetic taste and a structured, system-oriented brain. You understand completely that visual design is not superficial decoration-it is a core linguistic pillar of how a digital product communicates, commands focus, establishes instant trust, and creates consumer desire. Because Glance is rooted in lifestyle curation and visual inspiration, the bar for your typography, composition, colour application, and asset consistency is naturally world-class.

What will you work on?

• Shape the Visual Identity: Define, craft, and elevate the premium high-fidelity expression of Glance across our core commerce layouts, key product interfaces, and system component behaviour.
• Build and Scale Visual Design Systems: Evolve, document, and manage our visual tokens, typographic scales, and UI component behaviour across Android and iOS platforms. You will know exactly when a design requires strict system consistency versus when it needs artistic contrast and contextual emphasis.
• Cross-Functional Articulation: Partner closely with UX, Motion, Product, and Engineering to ensure that shipped code perfectly mirrors your visual intent, strategic thinking, and aesthetic refinement.
• Mentor and Standard-Set: Lead by example. The craftsmanship, attention to detail, and asset precision of your daily work will act as a structural template and standard for junior and mid-level designers in the studio.
• Design Evangelism: Champion the business value of premium interface aesthetics internally and represent Glance's unique visual system paradigms at external industry design conferences and creative forums.

Minimum Qualifications

• Pristine Visual Portfolio: A portfolio demonstrating world-class graphic craft, advanced composition, layout sophistication, and an editorial eye applied to digital screens or consumer products.
• Interface Fundamentals: Absolute command over typography, grid systems, aspect ratios, color theory, and optical alignment.
• Systemic Thinking: Proven experience designing UI component systems that adapt gracefully across varying screen densities, aspect ratios, hardware limitations, and localised multi-lingual feeds.
• Tooling Fluency: Expert command of Figma and modern asset optimisation pipelines, with an obsessive eye for the 1px details that separate standard layouts from elite software products.

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrated history of designing for visual-first, style, luxury, or fashion-led digital media platforms where imagery, curation, and brand aesthetics are inseparable from product utility.
• Proven ability to work side-by-side with engineering teams to inspect, review, and refine shipped production UI, ensuring absolute visual fidelity.

=A Bachelors, Masters, or Post-Graduate degree in Visual Communication, Graphic Design, Fine Arts, Communication Design, or a related visual field.
