What You Will Do

Hot Section Engineering (HSE) is responsible for the design, development, technology maturation and in service support of all diffuser cases, combustors, turbines (vanes, blades, rotors and cases), augmenters (military), nozzles and associated fuel systems for all military, commercial and industrial engine models and radial auxiliary power units.

Technical disciplines in HSE include Project Engineering, Mechanical Design, Structural Analysis, Durability and Product Definition.

As a Hot Section Engineering Intern at Pratt & Whitney, you will......

• Collaborate in multi-discipline teams to provide design solutions to balance customer requirements for durability, performance, cost and weight.
• Utilize finite-element and classical methods to perform strength, stress/deflection, vibration, fatigue life, damage tolerance, containment, kinematic and optimization analyses.
• Plan and cover validation testing (engine & rig) and data-reduction.
• Support production and in-service field investigations
• Develop task plans/schedules and coordinate with vendors on hardware procurement

Qualifications You Must Have

• Must be pursuing Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Engineeringand actively enrolled through the completion of the internship session.
• Experience with Microsoft Office tools (PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel)
• Minimum of 30 credit hours completed by the start of the internship
• Minimum 3.0 Cumulative GPA

Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects

Qualifications We Prefer

• Pursuing a Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering degree
• Experience with Finite Element Analysis or Mechanical Design Software
• Prior RTX internship, co-op, or work experience.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
