Christchurch Engine Centre, a joint venture between Pratt & Whitney and Air New Zealand, delivers world-class maintenance, repair, and overhaul services across all IAE V2500 engine variants and is adding capability for the new PW1100G-JM engine late in 2026. Responsibilities:
We are seeking a 2nd or 3rd year supply chain/commerce undergrad to work in our Procurement department over Summer (October 2026 to mid-February 2027).
The role will be partially project based and the student will split his/her time between some day-to-day activities along with procurement projects. He/she will be guided and supervised by the Senior Materials Manager and Senior Procurement Specialist. The role will be mainly focused on:
- Assist with creation of POs
- Assist with management of overdue PO’s
- Review standard work for non-product procurement and document changes needed
- Sourcing projects for commodities
- Reviews of Procurement templates & other ad hoc items
Requirements:
- Good analytical skills backed by strong Excel knowledge/capability
- Basic understanding of Supply Chain
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and think outside the box
- Results focused and able to communicate well with a broad range of internal and external customers.
Learning Outcome:
- Exposure to end-to-end purchasing process, including supplier negotiations and solution selection
- Supplier performance analysis and management
- Cross Functional Team Skills
