Make DSP intelligence integrated, efficient and production-ready
FalCom, part of GN, develops advanced hearing protection, communication and connectivity solutions for special operations, military, law enforcement and security personnel.
We are looking for a DSP Integration & Platform Engineer to join our team in Ballerup, Denmark. You will help turn advanced DSP technologies into robust, efficient and production-ready product solutions.
The team you will be part of
You will join FalCom’s Audio Engineering team - a specialised, international and collaborative R&D environment working across Embedded Software, Hardware, Acoustics, System Engineering and Configuration.
You will report to Senior Manager Audio Engineering, Jens Kirkelund,
Your role
This role is primarily about integrating and optimising existing DSP technologies - including third-party SDKs, codecs, middleware and frameworks - rather than developing new algorithms from scratch.
You will work at the intersection of DSP, embedded software, hardware and acoustics to ensure DSP functionality is efficient, reusable and reliable across FalCom products.
Your key responsibilities
Integrate DSP technologies, SDKs, codecs, middleware and frameworks into FalCom products.
Implement and maintain DSP-related embedded software in C/C++.
Develop DSP interfaces, processing pipelines and reusable platform components.
Optimise CPU usage, memory, latency, power consumption and real-time performance.
Support audio-processing functions such as noise reduction, echo cancellation, beamforming and communication enhancement.
Troubleshoot across DSP software, firmware, hardware, acoustics and system integration.
Perform simulations, measurements, testing and validation on prototypes and physical hardware.
Collaborate with Embedded Software, Hardware, Acoustics, System Engineering and external technology suppliers.
Document technical decisions, test evidence and integration results.
To succeed in the role, we imagine that you have
A relevant degree within DSP, Audio Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, Computer Engineering or similar.
Strong practical and theoretical understanding of Digital Signal Processing.
Experience with DSP-based audio or communication solutions.
Experience with embedded software development in C/C++.
Understanding of real-time embedded systems and optimisation of CPU, memory, latency and power consumption.
Experience integrating SDKs, middleware or software components into embedded products.
Understanding of audio signal chains, from microphone input through DSP processing to audio output.
Experience with testing, measurement and troubleshooting on physical hardware.
Professional fluency in written and spoken English.
Who you are
You are curious, structured and pragmatic. You enjoy solving complex technical problems and turning advanced technology into solutions that work reliably in real products.
You take ownership, work independently and communicate clearly about technical choices, risks and trade-offs. You also enjoy working closely with specialists across software, hardware, acoustics and system engineering.
What we offer
You will have the opportunity to influence how DSP technology is integrated and scaled across FalCom products.
You will work with advanced communication and hearing-protection solutions in a supportive and collaborative R&D environment, with strong opportunities for technical development and broad system learning.
At GN we pride ourselves on encouraging flexible working whenever possible. We trust our people to fulfill their responsibilities, to know when in-person collaboration is better than hybrid, and to be present when it's needed most.
We encourage you to apply.
Even if you don’t match all the above-mentioned skills, we welcome your application if you think you have transferable skills. We highly value a mindset and motivation that align with our core values.
