GoHighLevel is an American software company founded in 2018 that sells an all-in-one marketing and customer relationship platform designed to be resold by agencies under their own brand. Rather than selling to end businesses directly, it lets a marketing agency white-label the platform, set its own prices and run hundreds of client accounts from one place, which turns its customers into its distribution channel. Headquartered in Dallas and bootstrapped rather than venture funded for most of its life, it has grown very quickly among small marketing agencies serving local businesses.

About HighLevel:

HighLevel is an AI-powered business operating system that gives agencies, entrepreneurs and SMBs the infrastructure to build, automate and scale. Today, HighLevel supports SMBs across 150+ countries, fueling community-driven growth rooted in real customer outcomes.

To date, businesses operating on HighLevel have generated over $7 billion in ecosystem value, demonstrating the impact of shared infrastructure at scale. By centralizing conversations, automation and intelligence into one system, we help businesses move faster, reduce complexity and execute efficiently.

Behind the platform, HighLevel powers more than 4 billion API hits and 2.5 billion message events daily. With 250 terabytes of distributed data, 250+ microservices and over 1 million domain names supported, our architecture is built for performance, resilience and long-term scalability.

About the Role:

Every employee gets paid on time because someone got the details right. Payroll is where people, money and compliance meet, and this apprenticeship is your way in. As a Payroll Apprentice on HighLevel’s India Payroll team, you will see how payroll really runs inside a fast-growing, global, remote-first company: the payroll inbox, ticket tracking, documentation, data entry and Excel-based reporting, all under the guidance and supervision of the Payroll Manager and team.

This is a learning and support role. You will receive ongoing guidance, training, and supervision while building practical skills in payroll operations, data management, reporting, and using AI tools to make administrative work faster and smarter. The focus is on learning and administrative support rather than independent ownership of payroll activities. No prior payroll experience is required; curiosity and an eye for detail are enough to start.

Programme Details:

  • Work Type: Apprenticeship
  • Department: Finance
  • Sub Department: Global Financial Services
  • Duration: 6 months
  • Shift timings : Monday - Friday, 10:30 AM - 7:30 PM IST
  • Monthly Stipend: 35000 INR/Monthly
  • Location: Remote - India
  • Programme Start: November 2026

Responsibilities

All assigned activities are reviewed and supported by the Payroll Manager or designated team members.

Payroll Inbox & Communication Support

  • Monitor the India Payroll inbox, sort incoming requests, and route them to the right team member for action.
  • Organize emails and maintain clear folders or labels so payroll correspondence is easy to find.
  • Draft routine acknowledgements and status updates for review before they are sent.

Ticket Tracking & Follow-up

  • Log, track, and update payroll tickets and requests, keeping statuses current.
  • Follow up on open items with the team and relevant stakeholders to support timely completion.
  • Note recurring query types and suggest ideas to improve FAQs and self-service resources.

Analytics & Reporting

  • Assist with Excel-based reports and trackers by preparing, formatting, and refreshing routine reports.
  • Track ticket volumes, categories, and turnaround times, and assist with periodic reporting.
  • Support data entry, clean-up, and validation of payroll-related trackers, as directed by the team.

Process Documentation & Knowledge Management

  • Create and maintain quick-reference guides, checklists, FAQs, and process documentation.
  • Keep payroll shared files and knowledge repositories organized and up to date.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify and standardize administrative processes.

AI & Process Improvement

  • Explore how AI-powered tools can improve administrative processes, such as drafting, summarizing, and organizing information, and share ideas with the team.
  • Support small process improvement initiatives as required.

Coordination & Administrative Support

  • Maintain trackers and follow up on action items to support timely completion of Payroll activities.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders across Payroll, People Operations, IT, and other teams as required.
  • Provide day-to-day administrative support to the India Payroll team, and keep a training log reviewed regularly with your supervisor.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in any stream (such as B.Com, BBA, BA, or B.Sc); recent graduates are welcome
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfort working with data, spreadsheets, and reports
  • Basic to intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills
  • Ability to handle employee information with confidentiality and discretion
  • Interest in learning how AI tools can support administrative efficiency
  • Willingness to learn, take guidance and feedback, and follow through on assigned tasks
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multiple teams and stakeholders
  • Interest in building a career in Payroll, Human Resources, or Finance Operations
  • No prior payroll experience required; training and ongoing guidance will be provided

How We’ll Support You

You will learn on the job with a supervisor and a team behind you, and every task you take on is reviewed and supported.

  • A named supervisor: the Payroll Manager provides day-to-day guidance and reviews your work.
  • Structured onboarding that introduces India payroll processes, the team’s tools, and ticket handling.
  • On-the-job learning against a training plan, with regular check-ins to review progress and feedback.
  • Practical training in Excel and in using AI tools for administrative work.
  • Clear boundaries: tasks are assigned and reviewed by the team, and you do not independently own payroll activities.
  • Regular touchpoints with the team, so remote working never means working alone.

What You Take Away, and Where Payroll Can Take You

By the end of the programme you will have:

  • A working understanding of the monthly payroll cycle and how a payroll team handles employee queries.
  • Hands-on experience in Excel reporting, ticket tracking, and process documentation, plus practical use of AI tools at work.
  • Experience working with a global, remote-first team and a supervisor who has reviewed your work.
  • A certificate of completion that you can add to your resume.

Payroll experience opens doors to roles that people commonly grow into, such as Payroll Executive or Analyst, Payroll Specialist, Compliance Analyst, HRIS or People Systems Analyst, Compensation and Benefits (Total Rewards) Analyst, and People Analytics or Finance Operations roles. These are illustrative career paths, not commitments.

This is a time-bound apprenticeship under the Apprentices Act, 1961, and completing it carries no obligation of employment with the company.
