As a Technical Program Manager driving AI Safety and Security Launches, you will operate at the intersection of innovation and responsibility orchestrating end-to-end launch lifecycles and aligning global cross-functional partners to guarantee that Gemini models deploy with the highest standards of safety and security.
This is a high-impact role where you will work in a fast-paced environment with the ambiguity typical of AI research, collaborating closely with a virtual team across multiple time zones. This role requires a highly organized individual who excels at managing complex stakeholder relationships, resolving cross-team dependencies, and aligning teams across DeepMind to deliver successful launch outcomes.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.US: $217000 - $236000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities
- Partner closely with GenAI Safety, Security, Trust and Safety, and Legal teams to manage the end-to-end operational lifecycle of model deployments.
- Streamline execution, refine operational processes, and implement tooling upgrades across all launch programs.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve critical bottlenecks to keep research and engineering teams moving quickly.
- Build consensus and influence key outcomes across teams without relying on direct authority.
- Author and maintain end-to-end launch playbooks, standardized templates, intake reviews, and go/no-go approval workflows.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience leading programs across multiple geographies and time zones.
Preferred qualifications:
- Strong understanding of ML/AI principles and distinctions from traditional software development.
- Excellent organizational skills for managing complex stakeholder relationships, executive communication, and resolving cross-team dependencies.
- Demonstrated success in fast-paced program execution with high ambiguity and experience managing product launches or horizontal technical programs.
- Dedicated to advancing AI safety and security with a strong commitment to deepening expertise in the field.
