As a part of the Google Pixel team, you will help design and build premium mobile devices and services that are truly aspirational and showcase the potential of the Android platform. In this role, you will work to revolutionize how people interact with newer and smarter devices on the Android platform. As a part of this role, you will help develop the whole software stack for future smarter android devices, ranging from cutting-edge SoC bringup all the way up to platform. In this role, Google Pixel is looking for Embedded System Kernel Tech Lead to join the team to help architecting, designing, developing, testing, deploying and maintaining complex Android embedded consumer devices.

The team works on shaping the future of Pixel devices and services through some of the most advanced designs, techniques, products, and experiences in consumer electronics. Responsibilities

• Develop and sustain the whole system software stack for Pixel devices.
• Build Google SoC and the in-market devices system software kernel sustaining.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve the software quality.
• Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
• Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience with software development in C++ and C.
• 3 years of experience working with embedded operating systems.
• 2 years of experience working with the Linux kernel and Android systems.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
• BSP team lead or project lead.
• 7 years of Android system software development or management experience.
• 3 years of experience with Android BSP, with a focus on low-level hardware interactions and device driver integration, or upstream Linux Kernel.
• Excellent technical documentation and communication skills in English.
