With technical and leadership expertise, you manage engineers across multiple teams and locations, a large product budget and oversee the deployment of large-scale projects across multiple sites internationally.

As a Software Engineer Manager, you will lead the incentives workstream and enhance existing systems within the Google Cloud Business Platform (GCBP). You will adopt an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-first approach, solve complex, cross-functional business problems and collaborate with User Experience (UX), Product Managers, and operations teams. You will get exposure to Google's technology stacks and user flows in a dynamic environment. You will manage project goals, contribute to product strategy, and develop your team across the areas like AI, natural language processing, and large-scale system design. Responsibilities

• Set and communicate team priorities that support the broader organization's goals. Align strategy, processes, and decision-making across teams.
• Set clear expectations with individuals based on their level and role and aligned to the broader organization's goals. Meet regularly with individuals to discuss performance and development and provide feedback and coaching.
• Develop the technical goal and roadmap within the scope of the team. Evolve the roadmap to meet anticipated future requirements and infrastructure needs.
• Design, guide and vet systems designs within the scope of the broader area, and work closely with the team to solve ambiguous problems.
• Manage and deliver end to end lifecycle of projects spanning across planning, design, execution and launch.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in software development.
• 3 years of experience with full stack development, across the back-end such as Java, Python, Golang, or C++ codebases, and front-end experience including JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML, CSS or equivalent.
• 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
• 2 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role.

Preferred qualifications:

• 7 years of experience building and developing scaled infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage (e.g., spanner, BigQuery).
• 5 years of experience with design and architecture; and testing/launching software products.
• Experience of building products using Generative AI (GenAI)/Large Language Models (LLMs).
