In this role, you will architect and deliver cutting-edge optimization infrastructure to elevate system health metrics across all first-party application teams, directly enhancing the user experience for billions globally.
Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.US: $174000 - $252000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities
- Build and maintain agentic end-to-end benchmarking pipelines and diagnostic tooling to track, reproduce, and guard against performance regressions.
- Leverage AI to profile traces to diagnose memory, and cpu bottlenecks, identifying high-impact optimization opportunities.
- Improve the overall user experience by improving efficiency of applications by reducing memory, jank and execution runtimes.
- Partner closely with 1P Apps (Search, YouTube, Geo) and other Infrastructure teams to design centralized solutions.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of Android application development experience.
- 5 years of experience in coding with Kotlin and Java.
- 3 years of working experience with performance and memory.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
- 5 years of experience working with two or more from the following: Android development, Machine learning, Performance Optimizations.
- 5 years of experience in one or more of the following: test automation, refactoring code, test-driven development, build infrastructure, optimizing software, debugging, building tools and testing frameworks
