Google is an American technology company founded in 1998 by Larry Page and Sergey Brin and now the principal subsidiary of Alphabet, headquartered in Mountain View, California. It operates the world's dominant search engine and the advertising system built around it, along with YouTube, Android, Chrome, Gmail, Maps, Workspace and Google Cloud, reaching billions of users across nearly every internet-connected market. The company designs its own silicon in the Tensor Processing Unit line, develops the Gemini foundation models through Google DeepMind, and derives most of its revenue from advertising while cloud has become its fastest growing segment.

About the job

A problem isn’t truly solved until it’s solved for all. That’s why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

As a Technical Program Manager in Global Projects, you will serve as a technical and operational leader responsible for planning, governing, and executing physical security infrastructure programs across a mission-critical footprint. You will lead the delivery of global Move/Add/Change (MAC) projects, system uplift initiatives, hardware/software lifecycles, and sustainment operations.

This position requires deep technical mastery across the physical security stack including access control, perimeter intrusion detection, video surveillance, biometric authentication, electronic key management, and radio systems combined with a strong understanding of the IT server, storage, and network infrastructure underpinning modern cyber-physical security environments.

Operating at the intersection of security engineering, IT infrastructure, and program delivery, you will direct cross-functional vendor teams, apply hybrid waterfall and agile execution methodologies, and leverage data analytics to report program health, velocity, and risk to leadership.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Responsibilities

  • Direct high-velocity Move/Add/Change (MAC) projects and large-scale security modernizations to meet enterprise standards without disrupting 24/7 site operations.
  • Own multi-year hardware and software roadmaps for equipment refreshes. Drive systemic reliability projects, manage preventative maintenance, and enforce SLOs for system uptime.
  • Serve as the technical escalation authority and architectural reviewer for access control, PIDS, video surveillance, biometrics, key management, and radio platforms.
  • Partner with IT, Network Engineering, and SRE on infrastructure updates including server refreshes, OS migrations, SecLAN switch upgrades, and zero-trust authentication.
  • Manage distributed teams of vendor personnel and system integrators, overseeing SOWs, resource capacity, and SLA compliance. Build actionable executive dashboards from raw deployment and fleet health data to present telemetry, variance, and risk analyses.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Security Management, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in technical program or project management leading physical security system deployments, retrofits, and sustainment operations.
  • Experience with enterprise physical security architectures (e.g., Access Control, Video Surveillance, Intrusion Detection, Biometrics) and their supporting IT infrastructure (e.g., TCP/IP networking, Windows/Linux server administration).
  • Experience executing global programs using Waterfall and Agile methodologies while directing third-party vendors and system integrators.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Active program and agile management certifications (e.g., PMP, PgMP, PMI-ACP, or CSM).
  • Security and IT industry certifications (e.g., ASIS PSP, CPP, CISSP, CompTIA Security+, or CCNA).
  • Technical administrator certifications across enterprise physical security platforms (e.g., Software House C•CURE 9000, Genetec Security Center, Axis, Traka, Alcatraz AI, or Motorola).
  • Experience managing physical security lifecycles, zero-downtime retrofits, and strict regulatory compliance (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2) within hyper-scale data centers or global enterprise campuses.
  • Experience utilizing SQL, business intelligence visualization tools (e.g., Looker Studio, Tableau), issue-tracking platforms, and AI-assisted workflow automation to eliminate operational toil and optimize program delivery.
