Google is an American technology company founded in 1998 by Larry Page and Sergey Brin and now the principal subsidiary of Alphabet, headquartered in Mountain View, California. It operates the world's dominant search engine and the advertising system built around it, along with YouTube, Android, Chrome, Gmail, Maps, Workspace and Google Cloud, reaching billions of users across nearly every internet-connected market. The company designs its own silicon in the Tensor Processing Unit line, develops the Gemini foundation models through Google DeepMind, and derives most of its revenue from advertising while cloud has become its fastest growing segment.

About the job

Google's projects, like our users, span the globe and require managers to keep the big picture in focus while being able to dive into the unique engineering challenges we face daily. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You're equally at home explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.

Using your extensive technical and leadership expertise, you manage projects of various size and scope, identifying future opportunities, improving processes and driving the technical directions of your programs.

As a Technical Program Manager, Experience Design and Delivery in METS, you will lead the execution of brand experience installations, modular demo platforms, and facility modernization projects across Google Experience Centers (GECs) and briefing hubs. You will oversee the delivery lifecycle for assigned spaces and content coordinating creative agency production, vendor fabrication schedules, software/hardware testing protocols, and financial tracking. You will orchestrate many simultaneous capital improvement projects from initial concept through design, engineering integration, vendor procurement, commissioning, and operational handover across the Americas, EMEA, and APAC.

In addition to your responsibilities delivering individual projects and programs, you will scale your impact by developing processes, tooling, workflows, third-party services, and industry partnerships that enable our team to amplify our impact, reduce cost, and improve speed of delivery.

The Core team builds the technical foundation behind Google’s flagship products. We are owners and advocates for the underlying design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure at Google. These are the essential building blocks for excellent, safe, and coherent experiences for our users and drive the pace of innovation for every developer. We look across Google’s products to build central solutions, break down technical barriers and strengthen existing systems. As the Core team, we have a mandate and a unique opportunity to impact important technical decisions across the company.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the technical delivery of simultaneous physical space refreshes, interactive installations, and infrastructure retrofits globally, directing system commissioning, punch-list remediation, and operational turnover.
  • Align stakeholders including architectural teams, general contractors, experience designers, and specialized AV integrators and lead alignment sessions with senior leadership to resolve trade-offs and drive strategic decisions.
  • Track and oversee project capital and operational (CapEx/OpEx) budgets, manage complex purchase orders and statements of work (SOWs), and navigate global supply-chain and procurement logistics.
  • Identify operational bottlenecks across the space delivery lifecycle and establish standardized delivery playbooks, intake rubrics, and scalable workflows to advance core programmatic capabilities.
  • Design and maintain governance frameworks, performance dashboards, and quarterly business reviews to effectively track portfolio health, SLA compliance, and key operational metrics.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in program management.
  • Experience as a technical program manager or project manager delivering experiential projects, such as museums, brand experiences, or placemaking.
  • Experience managing experience design, creative production, fabrication, and technology vendors from RFx through final project completion.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience partnering with corporate facilities and construction teams (e.g., REWS, architectural consultants, MEP teams) while successfully building bridges across siloed organizations, including event production, permanent facilities, and software engineering.
  • Deep expertise in managing commercial contracts and SOW risk mitigation, combined with outstanding executive communication, stakeholder management, and narrative synthesis skills tailored for senior leadership levels.
  • Proven ability to design intake, governance, and operational frameworks from scratch in high-velocity, ambiguous environments, paired with expertise in systemic risk mitigation, cross-workstream dependency management, and change-control governance.
