Product Operations is Grab's infrastructure function for the product organisation. We help product teams across Southeast Asia ship more, faster, and better - not by doing the work for them, but by building the systems, standards, and decision architecture that make every team structurally more effective.

A core part of how we do that is building the technical infrastructure that reduces the manual overhead of getting products from built to launched. That means automating the repetitive, high-friction parts of product workflows and maintaining the data systems that underpin how AI tools serve the product organisation.

Get to Know the Role

We are looking for someone to own the technical layer of Product Operations, discovering where operational friction can be automated, building those automations, and maintaining the knowledge infrastructure that makes our systems reliable at scale.

This is a role for someone with an engineering background who is looking or has moved toward solving organisational problems with technical tools. You are not building complex backend systems, rather you are identifying where manual, repetitive work is slowing product teams down and removing it. You will own your own technical roadmap, and work closely with engineers across different product teams and with our central engineering platforms to deliver that.

This role will report to the Head of Product Operations and be based onsite at our office in Petaling Jaya

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

• You will identify sources of operational friction across the product organisation through discovery conversations with product managers and engineers and assess which processes are repetitive and structured enough to automate.
• You will build and maintain automation tooling - scripts, integrations, and lightweight internal tools that removes manual overhead from product workflows
• You will own the technical integrity of the data and knowledge systems that Product Ops relies on - defining data schemas and field-level specifications, building validation and monitoring tooling, and diagnosing system-level problems at source rather than escalating symptoms.
• You will work closely with engineers across product teams as a technical peer - understanding constraints, proposing solutions that fit how those teams work, and defining data schemas and field-level specifications that engineering teams can implement directly.
• You will own the technical automation roadmap for Product Ops in deciding what to build, sequencing priorities, and balancing impact against complexity.
• You will provide technical direction and coaching on problem scoping and solution design to the team.

What Essential Skills You Will Need

• 5-7 years of experience in a technical role - software engineering, solutions engineering, technical programme management, or similar, ideally with some exposure to product or operational contexts.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate insights into actionable recommendations
• Hands-on proficiency in Python and SQL; comfortable writing scripts, building API integrations, and automating workflows without requiring infrastructure engineering depth.
• Excellent project management and stakeholder management capabilities
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
• Enough system-level thinking to own a technical roadmap: you can sequence work, make trade-offs, and explain your choices to non-technical stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across functional teams in a matrix environment
• Experience with change management and process implementation
