The Project Engineer will design, manage, and provide support for assigned projects. This individual will contribute as a key engineering team member by generating ideas, providing input, and conducting technical analysis. Providing customer specific engineering support on sold powder coating systems with complete documentation and communication before, during and after installation. Responsibilities include developing product specifications, creating detailed designs, and conducting compliance analysis using engineering tools. The Project Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to guide project development, conduct design reviews, and manage project design. Additionally, the role involves identifying and troubleshooting project issues, initiating corrective actions, and staying current with industry trends and emerging technologies to enhance project design and meet customer needs.
What You Will Do at Gema
Product Development and Engineering Tasks
· Provide complete and accurate drawings including system layout and equipment components
· Perform engineering tasks in developing projects
· Produce conceptual solutions to guide the development applications for project
· Create detailed design drawings
· Develop powder coating application solutions and booth system design concepts for customer needs
· Compile bill of materials to accurately provide equipment sold to the customer
· Provide as sold equipment manuals and drawings to the customer
· Assist sales through support discussions and system layout or proposal drawings
· Interpret control logic from schematics for electrical and pneumatic panels
· Implement design criteria established by organizations such as NFPA, NEC, FM, UL, CSA
· Proficient in using computer software such as AutoCAD and MS Office to perform engineering tasks, documentation and communication. Light use of PTC Creo is also required
· Review instruction manuals and product literature
· Travel occasionally using company motor vehicles with possible transport of tools and goods
Project Leadership and Team Collaboration
· Work effectively in a team environment
· Interface with the operations group and key vendors on component design
· Interface with service during and after system installation to follow up on problems or issues
· Provide onsite customer support and installation assistance as required
· Troubleshoot project problems in manufacturing, lab, or field settings
· Assist in customer lab including demonstrations, equipment testing, and training
· Conduct design and safety reviews
Learning and Market Awareness
· Stay current with developments in technical fields to maintain technical expertise.
· Gain knowledge of Gema’s product line and customer applications.
· Monitor emerging trends in customer markets.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
What You Will Bring to Gema
· Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent field.
· Excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to interact with international colleagues in a clear manner.
· Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to effectively contribute to project development and standard project support initiatives.
· Aptitude for electrical industrial control systems

The base pay range for this position is listed below, exclusive of fringe benefits or other compensation. If you are hired, your final base hourly rate will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, competencies, education, and/or experience. In addition to those factors, we will also consider internal equity of our current employees. Please keep in mind that the range provided is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at or near the maximum of the range would not be typical to allow for future and continued salary growth.
