Director of Corporate Accounting and Consolidations

The Director of Corporate Accounting and Consolidations is responsible for leading the global financial consolidation, close. This is a newly created role resulting from the growth of the Grant Thornton Advisory multinational platform. This role oversees the integrity of the consolidated financial statements and drives the strategic development of consolidation processes, controls, reporting capabilities. This successful candidate will play a key leadership role in acquisitions, finance transformation initiatives, and continuous improvement of consolidation and close processes.

Key Responsibilities

Corporate Accounting

• Direct monthly, quarterly, and annual global consolidation processes.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of consolidated financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Oversee ownership structures, legal entity hierarchies, consolidation adjustments, and intercompany eliminations in Onestream consolidation corporate performance management platform.
• Manage foreign currency translation and multi-entity reporting processes.
• Lead accounting close governance and coordinate activities across domestic and international finance organizations.
• Establish accounting close performance metrics and drive continuous improvement efforts.
• Partner with Financial Reporting, Corporate Accounting and Financial Operations teams to support their teams reporting requirements.
• Review consolidation support schedules and disclosures.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and applicable reporting standards.
• Support technical accounting analyses affecting consolidation conclusions.
• Ensure appropriate internal controls exist over consolidation, close, and reporting activities.
• Support SOX compliance activities and management testing.
• Coordinate external audit requests related to consolidation and financial systems.
• Monitor compliance with established accounting policies and procedures

OneStream Strategy & Governance

• Establish application governance standards, policies, and controls.
• Partner with Finance Systems and IT teams on platform administration, upgrades, security, and support.
• Develop OneStream development roadmap in collaboration with other stakeholders. Prioritize and oversee OneStream enhancement efforts.
• Oversee metadata governance, chart of accounts management, dimension structures, and workflow design.
• Ensure platform scalability to support growth, acquisitions, and changing reporting requirements.

Finance Integration and Transformation

• Lead initiatives to modernize and automate close and consolidation processes.
• Drive adoption of OneStream capabilities
• Identify opportunities to reduce manual processes and spreadsheet dependencies.
• Establish data governance and reporting standards across the finance organization.
• Lead financial integration activities for acquisitions and business combinations.
• Coordinate onboarding of acquired entities into OneStream.
• Oversee consolidation impact assessments for new acquisitions
• Develop integration playbooks and standard operating procedures.

Experience, Qualifications and Eduction

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• CPA required.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting, reporting, and consolidation experience.
• 5+ years of leadership experience managing accounting or finance organizations.
• Significant experience overseeing global consolidations.
• Hands-on experience with OneStream or other leading EPM platform
• Experience supporting multinational organizations and their consolidation process
• Public accounting background preferred.
• Experience with acquisitions, including accounting following the guidance of ASC 805, as well -merger integrations preferred.
• Expert knowledge of ASC 810 Consolidation, ASC 830 Foreign Currency Matters
• Understanding of OneStream Business Rules and VB.NET logic a plus

The base salary range for this position is between $172,000 and $232,000. Placement within the pay range is at Grant Thornton’s discretion, and it is based on multiple factors, including but not limited to, job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, progression within the role, geographic location, and internal equity. At Grant Thornton, compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
