Software Development Engineer II

As a Software Development Engineer II at GreyOrange, you will design, develop, and maintain backend applications and services. You will work end-to-end on applications, contribute to system design (HLDs/LLDs), develop and optimize algorithms, and manage databases, APIs, and deployment environments. The role demands strong software engineering fundamentals, independent ownership of technical deliverables, and active collaboration with engineering and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities:

• End-to-End Ownership: Own applications across servers, containers, databases, configuration management, and deployment.
• Backend and System Design: Design, build, and maintain scalable microservices and backend applications, including creating High-Level (HLD) and Low-Level Designs (LLD).
• Code and Algorithm Quality: Write efficient, maintainable, and testable code while developing, profiling, and optimizing backend algorithms.
• APIs and Databases: Develop web/desktop applications or services, integrate REST APIs, work with microservices, and write efficient SQL queries for relational databases.
• Engineering Standards: Follow software best practices (version control, testing, code quality), contribute to CI/CD and configuration processes, and collaborate with team members.

Requirements:

• Education: B. E. /B. Tech. /M. E. /M. Tech. /M. S. from a premier institute.
• Experience: 3-6 years of relevant software development experience with strong problem-solving skills.
• Core Technical Skills: Strong backend development, microservices architecture, REST API integration, and solid RDBMS/SQL skills.
• Design and Concepts: Deep understanding of object-oriented design, design patterns, software development frameworks, and algorithmic development.
• Tools and Soft Skills: Proficiency with version control systems, alongside excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Good to Have:

• Databases and Caching: Experience with PostgreSQL, Redis, and time series databases (e. g., InfluxDB).
• DevOps and Cloud: Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud deployment environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Scripting: Experience writing scripts using Python and Shell.
