GXM Technologies turns innovation into application through mission-ready software, secure delivery, technology transition, and federal program support.

Description

GXM is seeking a full-time Senior Systems Integration & Release Engineer to support the technical integration, engineering coordination, verification, and release readiness of complex enterprise digital platforms within a NATO multinational environment.

The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in enterprise systems integration, cloud-based platforms, APIs, data exchange, identity services, DevSecOps, and software release management. This individual will work closely with technical delivery lead, engineering teams, cybersecurity stakeholders, and multiple technology suppliers to ensure that integrated system components meet technical requirements, interoperability standards, quality expectations, and operational readiness criteria.

This position is responsible for coordinating and assessing technical integration activities, identifying and resolving cross-system dependencies, reviewing engineering and testing evidence, and supporting the successful transition of enterprise capabilities into operational environments.

The individual will work closely with the Senior Technical Delivery Lead to maintain technical delivery alignment, integration visibility, and release confidence across multiple engineering teams and external suppliers.

This role is based in London, United Kingdom. Hybrid flexibility may be available based on mission requirements, stakeholder engagement, and achievement of program objectives. Travel may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate systems integration and technical assurance activities across complex enterprise applications, cloud platforms, shared services, and supporting infrastructure.
  • Support the technical integration of multiple vendor-developed applications, enterprise services, APIs, data interfaces, identity services, and platform capabilities.
  • Develop, maintain, and review interface control documentation, integration specifications, system interaction diagrams, data flow diagrams, and technical dependency registers.
  • Coordinate integration activities across internal engineering teams, external technology suppliers, cybersecurity specialists, and infrastructure providers.
  • Identify and track technical dependencies, interface requirements, integration risks, engineering constraints, and cross-supplier delivery issues.
  • Review integration architectures, technical designs, implementation approaches, and engineering artifacts to assess interoperability, feasibility, and compliance with approved architectural standards.
  • Support technical delivery planning by assessing integration sequencing, engineering dependencies, technical milestones, and implementation readiness.
  • Coordinate technical integration reviews, engineering working groups, interface discussions, and cross-supplier technical issue resolution.
  • Evaluate the quality and completeness of supplier-provided engineering documentation, integration evidence, and technical test results.
  • Support verification and validation activities by reviewing system integration testing, functional testing, automated testing, performance testing, and technical acceptance evidence.
  • Develop and maintain technical release-readiness criteria, including integration completion, testing evidence, defect status, security dependencies, operational supportability, and deployment preparedness.
  • Conduct technical readiness assessments and provide documented recommendations regarding system integration, deployment risks, release constraints, and corrective actions.
  • Coordinate the identification, tracking, and resolution of technical defects, integration failures, and engineering issues that affect release readiness.
  • Assess non-functional requirements, including system performance, resilience, capacity, availability, interoperability, observability, and maintainability.
  • Support DevSecOps integration practices, including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, configuration management, controlled deployments, and release management.
  • Review technical aspects of deployment planning, rollback procedures, operational transition, and post-release validation.
  • Maintain integration registers, technical risk assessments, engineering action logs, release-readiness reports, and supporting technical documentation.
  • Collaborate with enterprise architects, technical leads, product managers, program managers, and cybersecurity stakeholders to ensure integration activities align with approved technical and operational requirements.
  • Support technical knowledge transfer, engineering documentation, and continuous improvement activities to ensure sustainable integration and release management practices.

Requirements

  • Active SECRET security clearance required. NATO SECRET or a recognized national equivalent, subject to NATO security verification and access requirements.
  • Citizenship of a NATO member nation and legal authorization to work in the United Kingdom.
  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in systems integration, software engineering, cloud integration, platform engineering, technical assurance, or enterprise application delivery.
  • Demonstrated experience integrating complex enterprise systems, software applications, infrastructure services, and cloud-based platforms.
  • Strong technical understanding of Microsoft Azure or comparable cloud environments and modern enterprise integration architectures.
  • Experience working with APIs, RESTful services, data integration, identity and access management, authentication, networking, and distributed applications.
  • Experience coordinating technical integration across multiple engineering teams, systems, suppliers, or technology platforms.
  • Experience developing and maintaining interface documentation, integration plans, system interaction diagrams, technical dependencies, and engineering artifacts.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycles, Agile delivery, DevSecOps, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and release management.
  • Experience reviewing integration test results, technical defects, engineering documentation, and software deployment evidence.
  • Experience evaluating technical release readiness, including testing completion, integration status, operational risks, configuration management, and deployment dependencies.
  • Working knowledge of system performance, availability, resilience, observability, interoperability, and operational supportability.
  • Experience using Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence, or comparable engineering, defect tracking, and collaboration tools.
  • Ability to analyze complex technical issues, coordinate resolution across engineering teams, and communicate technical findings clearly.
  • Strong technical writing, documentation management, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Professional fluency in English and ability to operate effectively in multinational, multi-vendor engineering environments.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience supporting NATO, UK Ministry of Defence, U.S. Department of Defense, government, or other multinational defense organizations.
  • Experience integrating cloud-native applications, microservices, APIs, enterprise data platforms, and distributed services.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure integration technologies, Azure DevOps, Azure API Management, or comparable cloud integration services.
  • Familiarity with container technologies and orchestration platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience supporting independent verification and validation, technical assurance reviews, and formal release-readiness assessments.
  • Knowledge of automated software testing frameworks, API testing tools, and continuous integration technologies.
  • Experience supporting DevSecOps environments, secure software delivery pipelines, vulnerability remediation, and controlled production releases.
  • Familiarity with Zero Trust principles, identity federation, access control, and secure enterprise integration architectures.
  • Relevant certifications in Microsoft Azure, systems engineering, DevOps, ITIL, or software testing.
  • Experience supporting complex enterprise modernization programs involving multiple independent software and infrastructure suppliers.
  • Experience supporting technical service transition, release management, operational readiness, and post-deployment reviews.
