HALO - Enlightened Engineering. For industries driving tech forward, Halo is the most advanced photon-based manufacturing partner, unlocking the power of light for cleaner, smarter, more scalable production.

The Company

Halo Industries, Inc., a pioneer in manufacturing innovation with light-based technologies, seeks a highly skilled Senior Systems Integration Technician to join our dynamic team. Our proprietary advancements replace traditional processes with novel light-based equivalents, offering higher quality, lower cost, and enhanced functionality. As we rapidly expand our operations, we're growing a team to oversee our prototype systems' integration and verification activities.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Senior Systems Integration Technician to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial for the successful development, testing, and deployment of our cutting-edge laser-based wafer manufacturing systems. The ideal candidate will have deep hands-on experience with complex electro-mechanical and optomechanical hardware, including lasers, motion stages, and control electronics. The candidate will be detail-oriented, with the ability to identify, diagnose, and troubleshoot issues bringing new products from concept to production release. This role is for you if you’re passionate about developing laser based capital equipment and meet some of the qualifications outlined below.

Responsibilities

  • Perform hands-on testing, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis across electrical, mechanical, optical and controls domains.
  • Build and modify experimental electronic, electro-mechanical, electro-optical devices and test fixtures for laboratory proof-of-concept projects.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams - including mechanical, electrical, optical, and software engineers to resolve integration and performance issues.
  • Contribute to design and readiness reviews, providing feedback focused on hardware testability, manufacturability, and serviceability.
  • Document processes accurately, including material requests, quality issues, efficiency tracking, and measurement reporting.
  • Support engineers in test instrumentation and data acquisition. Assemble, perform, inspect, and document high-precision mechanical tests. Conducting experiments, prototype manufacturing, and product demonstrations as directed by R&D engineers.
  • Support management in the procurement, purchase, and installation of new equipment.
  • Build and wire prototype industrial semiconductor processing tools. Includes build and test of control cabinets and panels, sensors, electro-mechanical devices, and electro-optical devices.
  • Contribute to process, service, and hardware improvements.
  • Support team goals by participating in preparation work, such as line clearance and changeovers, ensuring accurate material counts.
  • Communicate effectively with other team members working with cross-functional teams, including production, QA, electrical, and mechanical to support product scale up and troubleshooting.
  • Contribute to team success by mentoring and coaching new team members as needed.

Requirements

Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma / Associate’s degree and/or Equivalent.
  • 6+ years of experience in semiconductor, display, laser, mechanical, or similar fields with industrial capital equipment experience highly desired.
  • Hands-on experience with electromechanical systems, including controls, sensors power electronics, pneumatics, and optical assemblies.
  • Experience with keeping detailed, accurate records of experiments in notebooks or digital databases and preparing technical reports on findings.
  • Experience in a hands-on lab or factory setting, working alongside technicians to build test and qualify hardware systems.
  • Basic understanding and ability to read P&ID, schematic, wiring, layout, and assembly drawings of industrial tools and PCA’s
  • Experience using electronics and hand tools such as soldering irons, wire strippers, terminal blocks, and contact crimpers, electronic test equipment such as multimeters, signal generators, and oscilloscopes.
  • Experience using mechanical hand tools, such as screw drivers, thread taps and dies, socket sets, wrenches, use of basic machine tools such as drills, sanders, saws, Dremel tools, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Optomechanical and Laser alignment experience with fiber lasers, and non-linear optics.
  • Experience with Solidworks, AutoCAD, or similar software suites.
  • Exposure to motion control and optomechanical systems, including tuning, encoder calibration, and vibration analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex hardware systems, isolate issues, and drive corrective actions in collaboration with design engineers.
