Halter is an agricultural technology company headquartered in Auckland, New Zealand, and founded in 2016. The company develops solar-powered smart collars and a mobile application that enable virtual fencing, automated herd movement, and real-time health and heat monitoring for dairy and beef cattle. It operates across major pastoral farming regions including New Zealand, Australia, and North America, utilizing satellite technology to provide remote livestock management solutions for farmers.

About Halter

At Halter, we’re on a mission to enable farmers and graziers to run the most productive and sustainable operations. Our customers are using Halter to break free from the time-intensive constraints of conventional practices. Imagine watching 500 cattle stand up and walk calmly towards their next break? No quad bikes, no dogs, no fences. Just a group of cattle walking at their own pace. People say it looks like magic. Our customers are revolutionizing grazing with Halter. It's changing lives and transforming an industry. People join Halter to do meaningful work. By joining us you’ll be solving challenging problems within a talented team and a culture built for high performance. Our team out-think, out-work and out-care. We’re committed to delivering real change in the world - this isn’t easy, and in truth, we love that it’s hard.

We’re backed to deliver on a mission that matters by Tier 1 investors including Founders Fund, Bessemer Venture Partners, BOND, DCVC, Blackbird, Promus Ventures, Rocket Lab’s Peter Beck and Icehouse ventures.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a South American Launch Specialist, you'll be one of the first people on the ground establishing Halter's presence across the region - and you'll own what it means to bring Halter to producers in Argentina, Uruguay, and Brazil for the first time.

You'll lead the rollout of Halter on new operations end-to-end: training cattle and operators, solving problems in the field, and supporting producers as they get started. You'll work directly with ganaderos and pecuaristas - on the estancia, on the fazenda, in the campo - building the onboarding experience that every future customer in the region will inherit.

This role is partially field-based. Expect roughly a 70/30 split toward time on the ground, with regular travel across Argentina, Uruguay, and Brazil. You'll be with customers where they run their cattle, and the quality of what you build depends on you being there and understanding their operations deeply..

It's practical, hands-on, and highly ownership-driven. Every operation is different, and you'll tailor each deployment to help producers build confidence with Halter. Because we're early here, your read on what's working - and what local producers actually need - feeds straight back into how we build. You'll work closely with our Product team to make sure Halter meets the realities of South American ranching, not a playbook borrowed from somewhere else.

WHAT YOUR DAY COULD LOOK LIKE

  • Own deployments from sales handoff through a smooth transition to the broader customer team

  • Travel to estancias and fazendas across Argentina, Uruguay, and Brazil to deploy Halter in person

  • Work directly with producers to bring Halter into their operation and support day-to-day use

  • Lead training that fits the operation: practical, straightforward, and useful

  • Act as the main point of contact during deployment, giving customers a clear, reliable owner

  • Partner closely with Sales, Support, Product, and Operations to keep deployments coordinated across borders

  • Keep deployments on track by managing timelines, aligning resources, and clearing blockers

  • Solve problems quickly and adapt plans as conditions change - language, terrain, and infrastructure will all vary

  • Spot patterns in the field and feed them directly to Product to shape how Halter works for the region

  • Set customers up with the confidence and foundation needed for long-term success with Halter

  • Whatever else it takes: This is an early-stage market entry. You’ll do what needs doing to make Halter succeed in South America.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR

  • Experience working with customers: whether onboarding, supporting, deploying, or managing complex rollouts

  • Genuine comfort with travel and field work

  • Fluency in Spanish and English, Portuguese is a bonus.

  • Confidence operating independently and keeping priorities organized

  • The ability to coordinate moving pieces and keep things progressing without constant oversight

  • A practical, solutions-focused mindset when challenges come up

  • Comfort working cross-functionally: pulling in the right people and keeping everyone aligned

  • Clear, straightforward communication

  • Good judgment and the ability to adapt when plans change

  • A genuine care for the people we serve and the quality of the work

  • Agriculture or cattle ranching experience, especially with extensive grazing systems

English proficiency is a requirement for this role. The recruitment process will include interviews conducted in English, and a significant part of the day-to-day work will also be conducted in English. Candidates should feel comfortable communicating, participating in professional conversations, and working effectively in English. If you are not comfortable having professional conversations in English, this role may not be the right fit for you.

NICE TO HAVES

  • Familiarity with the South American beef sector across one or more of Argentina, Uruguay, or Brazil

  • Startup or high-growth environment experience

  • Familiarity with tools like Salesforce, Intercom, or similar systems

  • Experience working in ag-tech
