I. Role Overview
We are seeking a hands-on Network Operations Engineer to own the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and optimization of our enterprise network infrastructure across LAN, WAN, wireless, and SD-WAN environments. The ideal candidate is a practitioner first — someone who thrives on configuring devices, resolving incidents, and keeping the network running at peak performance — while also contributing to architecture improvements and long-term network strategy.
This role requires fluent English communication (listening, speaking, reading, and writing) as you will regularly collaborate with overseas teams, participate in English-language technical meetings, and produce English documentation.
II. Core Responsibilities
Network Operations & Incident Response
- Perform daily configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance of network devices including Cisco Meraki MS switches, Meraki MR access points, FortiGate firewalls, load balancers, and SD-WAN appliances.
- Serve as the first point of escalation for network incidents (outages, latency spikes, security events); drive root-cause analysis, implement fixes, and produce post-incident reports in English.
- Proactively identify and remediate potential network risks through performance monitoring, log analysis, and periodic health checks.
Wireless Network Management
- Conduct Wi-Fi AP site surveys and placement design for office and retail locations; ensure optimal coverage, capacity, and roaming performance.
- Diagnose and resolve wireless issues including interference, channel congestion, client connectivity failures, and signal degradation.
SD-WAN & Security Operations
- Operate and maintain Meraki SD-WAN and/or Fortinet SD-WAN environments; handle tunnel troubleshooting, policy tuning, and failover testing.
- Manage firewall policies, zero-trust configurations, and security vulnerability assessments; respond to security incidents per established playbooks.
Infrastructure & Data Center O&M
- Oversee office server room / data center operations, including environmental monitoring (power, cooling, UPS), equipment racking, cabling, and periodic inspections.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date network documentation: topology diagrams, configuration baselines, runbooks, and change records.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Partner with business units to understand requirements and deliver network solutions for new office build-outs, store openings, and renovation projects.
- Evaluate emerging technologies (cloud networking, AIOps, zero trust) and propose practical upgrades aligned with business needs.
- Develop and maintain Python scripts to automate repetitive O&M tasks and improve operational efficiency.
III. Requirements
Must Have
- Meraki Switching & Wireless: Proficient in configuring and operating Meraki MS series switches and Meraki MR series access points, including VLAN management, stacking, PoE configuration, RF planning, and wireless troubleshooting via the Meraki Dashboard.
- SD-WAN: Proficient in at least one of the following: FortiGate SD-WAN or Meraki SD-WAN — including policy-based routing, tunnel management, and performance monitoring.
- Wi-Fi Design & Troubleshooting: Hands-on experience in AP site survey, placement design, and wireless signal troubleshooting (interference analysis, channel planning, client roaming issues).
- Routing & Switching: Expert-level knowledge of TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, VLAN, STP, EtherChannel/LACP, and ACLs; able to independently design, deploy, and debug complex network architectures.
- Office Data Center O&M: Practical experience in office server room / data center daily operations, including environment management, equipment inspection, and safety compliance.
- English Proficiency: Fluent in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Must be able to lead English technical meetings, write incident reports, and collaborate with overseas teams independently.
- Location: Based in Shanghai or willing to relocate prior to onboarding.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of hands-on network O&M experience in enterprise environments.
- Education: Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Network Engineering, Communications, or a related field.
Nice to Have
- Zscaler SASE: Working knowledge of Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA) or Zscaler Private Access (ZPA) configuration and operations.
- AIOps: Familiarity with AI-driven network operations concepts and tools; willingness to explore and adopt AIOps practices.
- Retail Industry Experience: Prior network O&M experience in retail, hospitality, or multi-site branch environments.
- ITIL Foundation: ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent IT service management knowledge.
- Project Management: Experience leading or supporting network rollout / migration projects (PMP or equivalent is a plus).
- Huawei NCE-Campus: Familiarity with Huawei NCE-Campus platform for campus network management and automation.
- Certifications: CCIE, CCNP, HCIE, or HCIP in Routing & Switching / Enterprise / Data Center.
- Scripting: Python scripting for network automation (Netmiko, NAPALM, Ansible, etc.).
- Monitoring Tools: Experience with Nagios, ThousandEyes, or equivalent network monitoring platforms.
IV. What We Offer
- Competitive compensation package commensurate with experience.
- Opportunity to work in a multinational environment with global team collaboration.
