Responsibilities:

Build and lead the technology architecture.
Develop and scale the happiword platform.
Design systems for millions of books, readers, and authors.
Build features for reviews, recommendations, communities and author discovery.
Explore AI, personalisation, and recommendation technology.
Build a strong, secure and scalable engineering foundation.
Recruit and lead the future technology team.
Make key technology decisions that shape happiword's future.

Requirements:

Strong software engineering fundamentals.
Experience building web/mobile products or scalable platforms.
Knowledge of modern backend, databases, APIs and cloud infrastructure.
Understanding of system architecture and security.
Ability to make technology decisions independently.
Startup mindset and strong ownership.
Passion for building products, not just writing code.
Ability to eventually build and lead an engineering team.
Previous CTO/founding-team experience is valuable, but builders with exceptional potential are also encouraged to apply.
