Junior Developer (Finance Systems)

Harbor is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Developer to join our financial systems consulting practice. This role is ideal for an early-career professional looking to build experience in software development, systems integration, and legal technology solutions. 

The Junior Developer will work alongside senior developers, consultants, project managers, business analysts, and client stakeholders to support the development, customization, integration, and maintenance of financial and practice management solutions for law firm clients, with a primary focus on Elite 3E and related legal technology platforms.  

The successful candidate will have an eagerness to learn, strong problem-solving skills, and a desire to build technical expertise while contributing to client projects. This role provides hands-on experience with software development, database technologies, integrations, and consulting practices within a collaborative team environment.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Solution Development & Support  

• Assist with the development, customization, testing, and support of solutions within Elite 3E and related platforms.  
• Support the creation and maintenance of workflows, business processes, interfaces, and automation solutions.  
• Write, test, and troubleshoot code under the guidance of senior developers.  
• Participate in debugging and issue resolution activities.  
• Assist with application deployments and software updates.  

Systems Integration  

• Assist in developing and supporting integrations between financial systems and third-party applications. 
• Learn and work with REST APIs, data exchange technologies, and integration tools. 
• Support data transformation and data exchange processes using XML, JSON, and related technologies. 
• Help troubleshoot integration issues and support ongoing maintenance activities. 

Consulting & Client Engagement  

• Participate in project meetings and requirements-gathering sessions.  
• Assist with documenting technical requirements, designs, and implementation activities.  
• Collaborate with internal teams and client stakeholders to deliver project objectives.  
• Provide timely updates on assigned tasks and project activities.  

Technical Operations & Quality Assurance  

• Follow established development standards, processes, and best practices.
• Participate in code reviews and incorporate feedback from senior team members. 
• Use Git or similar source control tools for managing code changes. 
• Assist with software testing and quality assurance activities.
• Continuously develop technical and consulting skills through training and hands-on project experience. 

Education, Experience, and Other Requirements:

Education  

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field preferred. 
• Recent graduates are encouraged to apply. 
• Equivalent education, internships, or relevant technical training will be considered. 

Experience  

• 0-2 years of software development experience. 
• Internship, co-op, academic project, or entry-level experience in software development is desirable. 
• Exposure to Microsoft development technologies or object-oriented programming concepts preferred. 
• Familiarity with APIs, web services, or integration concepts is a plus. 
• Experience working in a team environment and willingness to learn new technologies. 

Technical Skills:

• C# or other object-oriented programming languages 
• .NET framework or .NET Core

• Git or other version control tools 
• Power Automate 

Nice to Have: 

• Exposure to Elite 3E or legal technology platforms
