Position Summary
Harness is looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to support the Global Payroll operations team. This role will be based in Bangalore, India, and will report to the Global Payroll Director.
In this role, you will assist in the day-to-day payroll operations for employees in EMEA, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance. You will work closely with payroll, HR, finance, and external vendors to support payroll processing and resolve employee queries. Key Responsibilities
- Support end-to-end payroll processing for EMEA and other international entities, including data collection, validation, and coordination with payroll vendors; serve as backup for India and other regions outside the core scope as needed
- Assist with onboarding activities related to payroll inputs and documentation
- Ensure payroll data accuracy and support compliance with local tax laws and statutory requirements across EMEA and international entities
- Support payroll and balance sheet reconciliations, maintaining accurate payroll records and documentation
- Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll reports and statutory tax filings to the relevant authorities
- Respond to employee payroll queries and support ticketing/query resolution for the global payroll team
- Partner with HR, finance, and external vendors to resolve payroll issues, and help identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities
About You
- 3-6 years of experience in payroll, accounting, or a related field
- Good understanding of payroll processes and statutory compliance in EMEA and India
- Good attention to detail and ability to work with accuracy
- Ability to manage routine tasks and meet deadlines
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Office tools
- Willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment
- Bachelor's degree mandatory
Work Location/Work Hours
- This is a hybrid role with 3 days on-site in Harness's Bangalore office
- Flexible working hours with an overlap of 2-3 hours with US business hours to collaborate with the global payroll team and global business partners
