Overview

Mastercard is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Software Developer (Level 6) to join our Cards & Payments technology team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Mainframe technologies and Python development, with additional experience in Java Spring Boot. This role requires a hands-on technical leader who can design, develop, and support mission-critical payment processing applications while driving modernization initiatives across the Cards & Payments ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the design, development, and implementation of scalable solutions within the Cards & Payments domain.
Develop and maintain high-performance Mainframe applications supporting critical payment processing functions.
Build and enhance automation, integration, and data-processing solutions using Python.
Collaborate with architects, product owners, and cross-functional teams to deliver business-critical projects.
Participate in modernization initiatives by integrating Mainframe systems with distributed applications and APIs.
Develop and support microservices and enterprise applications using Java Spring Boot.
Ensure application reliability, performance, security, and compliance with Mastercard standards.
Conduct design reviews, code reviews, and mentor junior developers.
Analyze production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures.
Contribute to Agile ceremonies and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
