Accountant (Manufacturing)

• Matric or equivalent.
• Formal accounting qualification.
• SYSPRO Expertise: Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience. Must be comfortable with full accounting function, including Cashbook, Creditors, Debtor and Inventory modules.
• Accounting: Strong understanding of accounting principles.
• Industry Experience: Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is non-negotiable. (Automotive preferred)
• Excel Skills: Advanced proficiency to handle complex stock reports.

Oversee the accounting function of the business

• This includes managing the bookkeeper, debtor, creditor and stock functions.
• Implement systems and controls.
• Ensure accurate recording of entries and train staff where needed.

• Stock movement checks and processing.
• Assisting with the verification of cycle counts.
• Costing: including reviewing Bill of Materials (BOM) and identifying fluctuations in raw material costs.
• Obsolescence: Identify and report on slow-moving or obsolete stock.
• Record scrap.

• Month-end journal entries.
• Prepare and submit VAT and EMP201s’.
• Maintaining the Fixed Asset Register, including ensuring all assets are tagged.

• Prepare monthly management accounts.
• Review and highlight to management any areas for consideration.
• Drive cost savings.
• Detailed analysis to management.
• Prepare Forecasts.

• Work on internal costings e.g. machine hour calculations.
• Assist the Commercial & Financial Director with quoting on new business.

• Annual Financial Audit.
• BBBEE Audit.
• AIS (Automotive Investment Scheme) Audits.
