Founded in 1972 and headquartered in Sydney, Australia, Healthcare Australia (HCA) is a healthcare recruitment solutions provider of nursing staff, aged care workers, and medical specialist placements in Australia.

Healthcare Australia (HCA) is a major provider of healthcare services across Australia, including allied health, primary care, recruitment, NDIS, care services, and training.

In December 2024, we began providing health, mental health, and wellbeing services across the onshore Immigration Detention network. Our team of nurses, general practitioners, and allied health professionals offer a range of healthcare services, including health assessments, chronic disease management, health promotion, wound management, immunizations, and other primary health interventions. HCA also launched a 24/7 Virtual Care Centre (VCC), offering remote healthcare through telehealth and video consultations to enhance onsite care for detainees.

Join our Primary Health Services team and play a key role in shaping health policy initiatives that support better health outcomes for communities across Australia. As the Health Policy Coordinator, you will help drive evidence-based policy development and writing, support advocacy activities, and collaborate with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders. This is a 6 month Fulltime contract with an ASAP start, St Kilda Rd office (near the Shrine of Remembrance).

In this role, you will:

  • Conduct research and analysis on health policies, legislation, and regulatory developments to inform organisational priorities.
  • Support the development of policy papers, reports, submissions, and recommendations grounded in evidence and stakeholder insights.
  • Coordinate health policy and clinical governance projects, ensuring outcomes are delivered effectively and on schedule.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with government agencies, industry bodies, and community stakeholders.
  • Develop engaging policy communications, educational resources, and presentations for a variety of audiences.

Let's talk about you!

You are a proactive and analytical policy professional who is passionate about improving health outcomes and influencing positive change within the healthcare sector. With experience in health policy, public health, advocacy, or a related field, you bring exceptional writing, communication and research skills and can translate complex policy matters into clear, practical recommendations. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy managing multiple priorities, and have a collaborative approach to stakeholder engagement. This position suits candidates with strong writing experience.

To be successful, you'll bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Public Policy, Health Administration, or a related discipline such as Human Resources Management.
  • Minimum 2-3 years' experience in health policy, advocacy, healthcare, or a similar field.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare systems, public health, and emerging health policy issues.
  • Excellent research, analytical, report writing, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities and work collaboratively across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and related business applications.
