Senior Accounting Coordinator

In this role, you will take take ownership of advanced and complex accounting tasks, ensuring the seamless execution of financial operations. This role acts as a key resource in solving escalated issues, streamlining processes, and providing insights to optimize the accounting workflow. The Senior Accounting Coordinator will also mentor junior team members and serve as a subject matter expert on critical finance operations, contributing to our ongoing efforts to drive business success and enhance customer satisfaction.

What you’ll do

• Handle complex invoice processing tasks, including three-way matching for high-value or disputed invoices.
• Investigate and resolve escalations from suppliers or procurement teams, identifying root causes and implementing long-term solutions.
• Identify inefficiencies within accounting processes and propose solutions to streamline workflows.
• Enforce and refine financial controls related to inventory, accounts payable, and month-end reporting.
• Perform detailed reconciliations of high-volume accounts, ensuring accuracy and resolving discrepancies.
• Generate and analyze advanced reports on accounts payable status, supplier performance, and financial compliance.
• Collaborate with senior accountants to ensure the timely completion of close activities.
• Serve as a point of contact for procurement, finance, and other teams to resolve accounting queries and provide expertise.
• Liaise with external auditors to provide requested documentation and explanations during audits.
• Assist Accounting Coordinators by providing training, troubleshooting support, and feedback.
• Develop guides and resources to improve team understanding of best practices.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations across all financial transactions.
• Participate in or lead ad-hoc projects aimed at improving operational efficiency or implementing new accounting tools.

What you’ll bring

• Proficiency in Oracle, SAP, or other enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial controls.
• Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to work with complex data sets.
• Advanced problem-solving skills to resolve escalations and process issues.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to mentor and guide junior team members.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in accounts payable, accounting, or financial operations.
• Experience with process improvement initiatives or audit readiness is a plus.
