Director, Distribution

This is an opportunity to play a leading role in Sony Music Korea’s local business growth, managing both new and existing distribution and investment partnerships. You will lead a talented operations team while serving as a trusted partner to labels across our network. The ideal candidate will thrive on building relationships, driving growth, and turning strategy into results.

What you will do:

• Lead new distribution and investment partnership opportunities, from evaluation and negotiation through deal execution.
• Manage and support existing partner labels, fostering strong relationships and driving long-term business growth.
• Oversee day-to-day distribution operations to ensure seamless execution and service excellence.
• Lead, coach, and develop the distribution team, driving performance and collaboration.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support partner success and execute strategic initiatives.

Who you are:

Technical Capabilities: 

• 15+ years proven experience in music distribution, label relations, business development, or partnership management within the music industry.
• Strong commercial mindset with a track record of negotiating and executing distribution, or investment agreements.
• Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to establish trusted partnerships both internally and externally.
• Demonstrated leadership experience, with the ability to manage, coach, and develop high-performing teams.
• Strategic thinker, capable of translating business insights into actionable growth strategies.
