An F&B supervisor assists management with the direction and organisation of food and beverage operations to maintain high standards of food and beverage quality, service and marketing to maximise profits through outstanding customer service.

Position Summary:

  • Monitor quality of service by observing or asking customers about needs; resolve customer complaints about service, food quality, etc. by assessing the problem and taking immediate action.
  • Forecast and determine when customer volume requires adding or re-assigning staff and making adjustments accordingly. Schedule and direct staff in their work assignments.
  • Implement food control and service standards, grooming standards, and appearance.
  • Administer procedures related to internal audit. Inspect facilities and equipment for clean, safe and sanitary conditions.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with regular vendors, guests, and co-workers.
  • Interview, select, train, supervise, counsel and discipline restaurant staff for the efficient operation of the outlet. Organise and conduct pre-shift and departmental meetings, communicating pertinent information to the staff, such as house count and menu changes.
  • Monitor the quality of food preparation (cooking techniques, food temperatures, plate presentation).
  • Monitor storage and rotation of food stock and supplies to ensure sanitation and inventory procedures are in accordance with hotel guidelines.
  • Monitor reservations, making sure they are correct and the guest is assisting.
  • Make sure Agilysys is working properly and monitor food & beverage sales from server staff.
  • Periodically equipment inventory.

Education and Experience

  • Education: Secondary Vocational Education (EPI) or equivalent required.
  • Certificates: ServeSafe and Food Handlers Health Certificate.
  • Work experience: 0-3 supervisory-levelexperience.
  • Language skills: English, Papiamento, Dutch and Spanish.

Skills and Abilities

  • Leadership: Ability to run shift briefings, guide team members, and solve conflicts calmly.
  • Customer Service: Strong communication skills to handle guest complaints and ensure high satisfaction.
  • Operational Awareness: Understanding of service flow, basic cost control, and cleanliness standards.
