Demand is outpacing capacity, so we're adding our first bookkeeper: someone we hope will grow with us for the long haul. Duties and Responsibilities
- You'll own day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting for a portfolio of small-business clients, working toward full independence after training.
- Maintain accurate general ledgers for multiple clients in QuickBooks Online
- Categorize transactions and keep books current through weekly maintenance tasks
- Reconcile bank, credit card and other balance sheet accounts
- Support full-cycle accounting, including month-end close for each client
- Follow and help refine internal SOPs as our processes mature
- Flag discrepancies, missing documents or client questions early, and communicate clearly with the owner
- Handle sensitive financial information, such as bank accounts, payroll and tax data, with discretion
Requirements
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online
- General knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting concepts, such as debits and credits, reconciliations and month-end close
- Experience in a startup or early-stage environment, and comfort with evolving processes
- Self-motivated, with the initiative to own tasks and meet deadlines with minimal reminders
- Responsive, organized and a clear communicator
