About Us

HireHawk connects skilled professionals around the world with U.S. and Canadian companies looking for experienced remote talent. For this opportunity, we are recruiting for a U.S. personal injury law firm that values experienced people who can take ownership of their caseload, communicate reliably, and keep cases moving without constant oversight. HireHawk supports globally distributed professionals with clear role expectations and dedicated team coordination.

About the Role

As a Personal Injury Pre-Litigation Case Manager, you will independently manage assigned personal injury cases through the full pre-litigation lifecycle after initial intake. This is an experienced-hire position for someone who already understands what should happen next on a PI file and can take action without step-by-step direction.

You will own case progression from opening and insurance claim setup through treatment coordination, records collection, demand preparation, settlement progression, and closing. You will have meaningful autonomy over your caseload while working within an established legal team, with additional support available for areas such as lien reductions.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of assigned personal injury cases from post-intake opening through settlement and case closing
  • Open insurance claims, communicate with carriers, and obtain or confirm applicable policy limits
  • Coordinate medical treatment and help clients connect with appropriate providers or specialists based on their injuries and case needs
  • Monitor treatment progression and manage cases with awareness of available insurance coverage and policy limits
  • Request, gather, track, and review medical records, bills, insurance documents, and other supporting case materials
  • Proactively identify the next steps required on each file and keep cases progressing without unnecessary delays
  • Maintain consistent communication with clients, medical providers, insurance representatives, and internal team members
  • Prepare cases for demand by organizing supporting documentation and assisting with or drafting demand packages and letters
  • Support settlement progression, including matters involving policy-limit tenders, and ensure files are properly prepared for closing
  • Assist with lien reductions when needed, with additional firm support available for this function

Requirements

Must-Have:

  • Prior hands-on U.S. personal injury pre-litigation case management experience
  • Strong working knowledge of the full personal injury pre-litigation lifecycle, with 3+ years of experience preferred
  • Proven ability to independently open, work up, progress, settle, and close personal injury cases
  • Experience opening insurance claims, investigating coverage, and obtaining or confirming policy limits
  • Strong knowledge of medical treatment coordination, medical records and bills, and ongoing case progression
  • Experience preparing PI cases for demand, including organizing documentation and assisting with or drafting demand packages
  • Strong written and verbal English, with the reliability and judgment to work independently with minimal supervision

Nice to Have:

  • Experience negotiating or assisting with lien reductions
  • Familiarity with Clio or another legal case-management platform
  • Experience handling policy-limit tenders and settlement documentation
