Role Overview :
We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Java Engineer with 5 - 6 years of experience to design, build, and optimize our next-generation, high-performance distributed systems. In this role, you will leverage modern Java features and the latest Spring ecosystem to deliver scalable, fault-tolerant microservices.
Key Responsibilities :
- Architecture & Development : Design and develop robust microservices using Java 17 - 25 and Spring Boot 4 / Spring Framework 7.
- Modernization : Lead the migration strategies for enterprise applications, including upgrading to modern JSON frameworks like Jackson 3.
- System Design : Architect scalable REST APIs with strict versioning controls and robust distributed system boundaries.
- Data & Messaging : Implement high-throughput event-driven systems using Apache Kafka or RabbitMQ, and manage complex data layers with Spring Data JPA, Hibernate, PostgreSQL, Oracle, and MongoDB.
- Resilience & Security : Secure APIs using Spring Security, OAuth2, and JWT, while ensuring system availability using Resilience4j fault-tolerant patterns.
- Testing & DevOps : Write clean, testable code supported by JUnit 5, Mockito, Testcontainers, and WireMock. Package and deploy services using Maven/Gradle, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Optimization : Diagnose production bottlenecks, conduct memory analysis, and perform JVM optimization and performance tuning utilizing modern concurrency tools like Virtual Threads.
Required Technical Skills :
- Core Java : Deep expertise in Java 17 through Java 25, including hands-on experience with Records, Virtual Threads, Pattern Matching, and advanced concurrency models.
- Spring Ecosystem : Advanced proficiency in Spring Boot 4 and Spring Framework 7.
- Data & Persistence : Strong relational and non-relational database skills (PostgreSQL, Oracle, MongoDB) paired with Spring Data JPA and Hibernate.
- Messaging & Integration : Proven experience with message brokers like Apache Kafka or RabbitMQ.
- Resilience : Practical implementation of circuit breakers, rate limiters, and retry mechanisms using Resilience4j.
- Testing : Robust testing practices utilizing JUnit 5, Mockito, Testcontainers, and WireMock.
- Build & Deployment : Experience with build tools (Maven, Gradle) and container orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 5 - 6 years of professional software development experience focusing on Java-based enterprise applications.
- Strong understanding of microservices architecture patterns and distributed systems failure modes.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for optimization and clean code.
