The role supports the Data and Insights Lead by ensuring reporting is accurate, timely and reliable, responding to ad hoc analytical requests and conducting detailed analysis to identify trends and performance drivers. The role combines strong technical reporting capability with curiosity, attention to detail and a practical approach to problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities

  • Investigate reporting issues, data discrepancies and data quality concerns, completing validation and reconciliation checks where required.
  • Support root cause analysis by identifying patterns, relationships and performance drivers within Claims data.
  • Present analytical findings clearly and concisely, making complex information accessible to non-technical audiences.
  • Maintain reporting documentation, calculations, definitions and data quality controls in line with agreed standards.
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual reporting activity and improve the efficiency and reliability of MI processes.
  • Support the development of new reports, measures and analytical solutions under the guidance of the Data and Insights Lead.
  • Build knowledge of Claims operations, data structures, performance measures and reporting requirements.

Experience, Knowledge & Technical Skills

  • At least 24 months’ experience in an MI, data, reporting, business intelligence or analytical role would be beneficial.
  • Strong Power BI skills, including experience developing, maintaining and improving dashboards and reports.
  • Experience working with data from multiple sources to produce accurate reporting and meaningful analysis.
  • Strong data analysis and interpretation skills, with the ability to identify trends, anomalies and performance drivers.
  • Good understanding of data quality, validation and reconciliation techniques.
  • SQL experience, including querying and extracting data, would be advantageous.
  • Experience using Databricks or another cloud-based data platform would be advantageous.
  • Previous experience within insurance, particularly Claims or an operational environment, would be beneficial.
  • An understanding of KPI frameworks, operational performance measures or customer outcome measures would be advantageous.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the curiosity to investigate data and understand performance drivers.
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality reporting and analysis.
  • Able to organise work effectively, manage competing requests and deliver outputs to agreed deadlines.

  • Proactive and improvement-focused, with a willingness to challenge existing reporting processes constructively.
  • Comfortable working independently on defined analytical tasks and collaboratively as part of the wider Claims Operations team.
  • Keen to develop technical knowledge and learn new reporting tools, data platforms and analytical techniques.
  • Practical, dependable and responsive when supporting regular reporting, ad hoc requests and investigative analysis.
