Position: Pricing Analyst

Role & Team:

This is a high impact role for a critical thinker who enjoys applying analytical skills, and innovative thinking to develop, implement, and maintain pricing processes, tools, and strategies in partnership with multiple teams within the organization.

You’ll work as part of a team whose work will be wide-ranging, spanning multiple business functions and requiring a multi-disciplinary approach to problem solving and analysis. The position will report to the Pricing Manager, supporting the continued advancement and development of pricing methodologies, providing decisions support for strategic initiatives, implementing actuarial techniques and establishing and maintaining a rate adequacy monitoring process. The pricing team’s day to day involvement throughout the organization helps influence and shape the performance of the business.

The primary functions of this role will be to develop rates and factors for new products, monitor product performance, track rate adequacy, and make rate recommendations. This is an ideal role for an individual who is passionate about the use of analytics to influence decisions and can conceptualize new ways of solving problems. The role will need to communicate technical concepts simply and effectively to key stakeholders and see them all the way through to implementation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and streamline quarterly rate indication process that includes responsibilities for methodologies, assumptions, documentation, validation, data and communication of results.

• Understand, communicate, and apply standard actuarial techniques and methodologies that include loss development, trending, premium on-leveling, permissible loss ratio development, and generalized linear models.

• Communicate product concerns and recommendations to relevant teams within the organization through PowerPoint and data visualization tools (Tableau).

• Develop data processes that include understanding data structures, creating SQL queries, building validation processes, and addressing inconsistencies within the data.

• Organize and provide support for rate filings.

• Support the senior pricing team members in any required projects.

Person Specification:

• Strong drive for knowledge and development
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
• 0-3 years of experience in pricing
• Progress toward actuarial accreditation from the CAS (1+ exams preferred)
• Coding skills in SQL, VBA, and/or R
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Mental agility and adaptability to changing circumstances

Salary Range: $85-$125k

The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment

**Please note that this position is hybrid and requires two (2) days in our office weekly**
